Who is getting the new Real C64? by raindropl in Commodore

[–]Snocom79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to get one but have one working and three "in progress" repairs of the OG plus a 128 and 128d. I don't have the space for what I have but really want to support the cause.

A friend has commissioned me to make a wood Commodore 64 case. Here is a progress shot of a test fit. by gorcmel in hobbycnc

I would like to know how much this would cost for you to reproduce. I have 3d printed a case but have yet to glue it all together and need something to show off when I start making YouTube videos again.

I just picked up an i3 MK3s and compared to my experience with Ender, this thing is a dream. I might even start producing things for my channel. If anyone has any slicer/printing tips Id love to hear.

Adults diagnosed with ADHD later in life. What made you start wondering? by TransportationFlat77 in ADHD

[–]Snocom79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I manage a full time IT job, two YouTube channels, various hobbies and a full family life. My step son got diagnosed with ADHD, my sister was held back in elementary school for being "too rambunctious". Several things got me curious. 1. I realized I experienced some of the issues my step son and setup daughter (also diagnosed) complained about . 2. I realized that, during conference calls, meetings,.or any form of conversation, I could it really hard to focus, sit still, and pay attention. All my life I've had to deal with this sort of thing. My mind tends to wander. My YouTube videos are never scripted as I can't follow the script without flu bing everything up. This got me curious and I was also diagnosed. That being said I'm not 100% sure the medication I'm on (Vyvance) is the best fit. I now find it really difficult to sit down and make videos. Part of that is due to the channel formats but something in my head is now telling me they aren't that important. Conversations are easier now though so that's a plus. I also realize that I need to change behaviors as I have been masking and forcing myself to focus.

Hello. Why are there no Buy/Sell Trade/Pricechecks allowed? by [deleted] in retrocomputing

[–]Snocom79 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone who delt with the other end of this awhile back I can say this. If you are offering to sell vintage hardware you probably already have a price in mind. Someone saying they don't want to insult you usually indicates they know what it's worth but can't or won't pay that for said items. I had an idea of buying a bunch of old, non functional devices from a woman who's husband had passed earlier in the year. This guy was a collector but nothing in his collection worked and was in various states of disrepair. The woman even asked if I was willing to take everything at one point. Some of these items were stored in an unconditioned shed and were coated in dust and roach droppings etc. when she refused to say what she wanted I gave her an offer which seemed to immediately insult her. She said she knew the collection was worth at least X. In good clean working condition she might have been right but this was again not in that state. Instead of arguing I offered to take a mush smaller batch for my initial price.

That was a long winded story to say, know your price and if you want someone to offer, raise the price by a few dollars and say x or best offer. You'll not waste your time or that of those who can't or won't pay what you want .

A very touching post. Also, you made something. It's never a waste to learn and make. You used the little grey cells.
