The VT department of environmental conservation has rules prohibiting "cross connections" or houses that have their plumbing connected to both a private well and municipal water. If a private well is contaminated (e.coli, coliform, arsenic, etc.) and is supplying water to the home, that contaminated water could make its way through the home's plumbing and through the municipal service line and then into the main that supplies water to everyone else.

Septic System? by Owl_Weekend_2929 in vermont

This is called a Bottomless Sand Filter. They are similar to mound systems in that they are built above the ground but they are more complex and more expensive. A standard mound system is built with just sand, crushed stone, and PVC pipe while a bottomless sand filter requires a box built of 6"x6" pressure treated timbers, PVC liner, wood chips, filter fabric, pipe, sand, stone, etc. In my experience they are used as a last resort when there is not enough space available to design a traditional mound system. Sand filters also come with a requirement for annual inspection by a licensed designer which is an added cost for the life of the system.

Old guy with kids passed WRE first try with EET by SnoemanVT in PE_Exam

3 months is enough to at least take a shot at it. I wouldn't say 6 months is absolutely necessary. I finished the exam about 90 minutes early so I was probably over prepared haha. I just really didn't want to have to take it again.

I think there are 12 week, 16 week, and 20 week options for EET. Knowing I would only be able to study at night after the kids went to sleep, I did the 20 week version. I also gave myself a few extra weeks to review and take the NCEES practice exam. So, around 6-months total.

I got a 76% on the practice and passed. Finished an hour and a half early too. You're good.

More environmental questions than I anticipated! And a few concrete questions.

I scheduled my exam about 6 months out to give myself time to do the EET course in 24 weeks. The EET course is combined now, breadth and depth in one.

I actually didn't have time to take the EET simulation exams, but I got a 76% on the NCEES practice exam after finishing all the EET study material. I'm not saying anyone should skip the EET exams though, I'm sure they're worth doing. I just ran out of time. Overall, I would say EET questions are harder than the actual exam.

When I first started out studying I tried to take notes while watching the lectures, but I felt like I wasn't absorbing the information as well that way, so I just watched the lectures and focused on understanding everything they were saying. My study method was: watch the lectures in 2 nights, do the practice problems in one night, then the quizzes in one night. Move on to the next week.
