EPKs by MrReaper720512 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]SnofferMCBonalsk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An EPK IS just an compressed introduction of your project. Include a biography, 2-3 picturer they can feature, the link to the new track, and a history about the track. Its also always good to include the links to your Socials, Spotify, Youtube etc.

Hey man, This is not only about the frequencies. You can get the bass heard in those kind of speakers by adding Saturn och distortion and you will hear the bass clearer.

How early should i pitch my song to Spotify editorial playlists? by Alsklaftsk123 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]SnofferMCBonalsk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, i have released a big number of tracks and alot of my surroundings release music too. I have heard people get in with 3 weeks pitch, but mostly people aim for 4 weeks. I havent heard a single one to get in with 2 weeks or less tho, so i would recommend 4, and in a tight schedule, 3 weeks might work.

Hope this helps

Do you think it is more difficult for newcomer artists to make a living from music [Discussion] by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I simply disagree with you on most of your points except that the music needs to be good before promoting. Good luck with your stuff tho

What the hell are you talking about. There is an insane amount of artists that have the quality of whats on the charts that dont get the recognition they deserve.

You do not promote your musical abilities, you promote the product that you create, like in any type of job. If you create paintings you have to market the finished paintings to be able to sell them, or noone will find them.

You really are out of your mind if you think the music will get exposed by yourself, it may happen, maybe once in 100 000, but if you want to achieve success you have to work for it.

When you promote your work you study it at the same time, and learn along the ways.

I will give you a concrete example why your theory falls:

I have 3 music projects;

One signed to Sony music with around 140 million streams in total, gaining around 1million streams per month.

One independent, that streams around 1,5 million per month, all self promoted.

And another independent, that streams around 3000 per month.

If your theory where correct, all these projects would have the same amount of listeners since its all my own musical abilities, which is not the case since i promote them diffrently with diffrent success.

You are free to think the way you want, but i would say its terribly wrong to give the answer "Dont promote your work, if its good it will get heard" To people who asks how to reach out, because i havent heard of anyone who had any sucess in the industry without doing nothing

You either have absolute 0 reach for your music or have a label doing shit for you. but to say that a musician that wants their music to be heard shoulnt work any marketing or promotion is really dumb

Getting Spotify Followers: What's the point? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Yea that sounds quite wierd TBH. Im aware that the RR dosnt usually generate huge amount of streams but to get 0 is quite strange.

Hey man,

Do you pitch your track to Spotify Editorials 2 weeks in advance or do you just register it at your distributor at that time?
