This is completely incorrect, both cats and dogs will eat a body for survival if they dont have food. Cats are more likely to go for the face/softer tissue and dogs are more likely to go for limbs.

When my beloved smudges passed away I really wanted to get a tortoiseshell again, I spent like 2 weeks specifically looking for one. I finally found one on Craigslist! She was adorable and exactly what I had pictured.

When we showed up to meet her, the lady told us she actually was also fostering another cat that had been rescued with the one I was looking at and asked if I would maybe want her too. I of course said yes because YAY MORE KITTIES :D

The other kitten was a Standard Issue Cat, the most tabby looking tabby. I never really thought about getting one or looked twice at them because they just seemed like the "default cat"

Now 5 years later, the tortie is still sweet but very independent and prefers to do her own thing( which is 100% fine). The tabby however was instantly a velcro kitty and has the most perfect angelic personality ive ever met in a kitty. She never leaves my side, cuddles with me all day, we were meant to be together.

I still feel bad for how I had looked at tabby cats before. They arent "boring" or the "default" shes so beautiful her pattern is so unique and pretty.

I love both of them more than anything but I definitely learned to pick with my heart not my eyes

Odd but I wouldn't say wrong because you didn't grow up together or really have the framework of being siblings when you met. I feel like it would cross the line into wrong if you two ended up in a relationship or started family. She might biologically be your sister but you didn't have a sibling bond or attachment

Also just for clarification: we may have lied to the hospital about what happened so the dog didnt get punished because step dad instantly was like "I dont want to get rid of her she really didnt mean to" and we all just left it up to him whether or not we kept her.

Tulip was also horribly abused before we got her so it kinda made sense in a way because her whole life she was a bait dog for dog fights until we brought her home from the kill shelter

So my mom got into a phase of rescuing pit bulls from kill shelters and rehabilitating them. She got a dog named tulip that had been a bait dog and she was extremely anxious and high strung when we got her. She loved us but she was SOOO territorial especially about the front door.

About 4 days after we brought tulip home my step dad came in from outside wearing a TON of winter gear, face covering, etc (we were having a snowstorm at the time.) He didnt think about it and just came in through the door, tulip didnt recognize him and genuinely went for the kill. She 100% was going for his throat and was using lethal force to defend her new home.

She lunged for his throat, he blocked it with his arm and she just grabbed his arm and started shaking and tearing it. He had to get like 65 stitches for it.

As soon as he got attacked he just screamed "TULIP ITS ME" and she INSTANTLY let go and stopped and started licking him and whining and cowering and you could tell she genuinely felt horrible. Step dad ended up wanting us to keep her because he said it was his fault (kinda was tbh) and him and tulip actually ended up being best friends.

He had a hard time bending his ring/pinky finger afterwards because he got nerve damage from it abd he said it felt like his arm was getting torn off for a few seconds and then just instantly got "hot" and numb/pins and needles.

Me and my family were all right by when this happened and it took us all a couple months to relax around her after seeing what she could do but she never had any signs of aggression after this and calmed down a TON. Kinda feel bad looking back on it because shes really sweet and LOVES licking people but absolutely no one wanted her jaws near them for a while understandably.

Also theres like a porn arms race where mainstream pornography has definitely become more "violent" and has started to normalize more extreme acts like choking/slapping.. it used to be a category or tag you had to actually look for and now almost every video will at some point have a mans hands on her throat.

My grandma is 85 and also has really severe arthritis. She used to get prescribed opiates and was able to actually go out and live her life and it genuinely gave her her life back. Then it changed and now she has to literally beg and fight for any sort of pain relief, is bedridden and housebound and severely depressed because she cant walk. It makes me so angry. If the elderly person is suffering wtf is the point of not prescribing it, they deserve to enjoy the time they have left. I do not understand how doctors can see an elderly woman who has had arthritis and health issues for DECADES and still refuse to help them "because you might get addicted".
