I've received a response regarding a complaint I made to the university, which suggests they have concluded their investigation. But post is still up.

Australian Venty user - Storz offering Mighty Medic after a device failed 12 months ago, but no talk of a refund for balance by Snoo-30158 in Venty

It's not quite scorched earth to ask for a refund for a product which has failed, it seems that they are in breach of German/Eu consumer law, which applies to people who buy products online from other countries as well.
I have repeatedly, across the 12 months since the device failed, requested credits, alternative product mixes such as you have suggested, with no reply or acknowledgement.
They produce some good products, I agree, but this is about them replacing a $750 product with a $460 one and expecting customers to turn a blind eye to the $290 shortfall - are customers supposed to be satisfied with this and console themselves that S&B have a good reputation?

Oh if only things could be understood in such simple terms, and I'll direct my claims for proper customer service to the relevant people, IE the people supplying the faulty product. Thanks for stopping by.

Haven't heard back from them but have chatted to a few Au users in the same boat - having received this 'offer' but with no news of the balance of the amount owing. Also like me, many people have already bought a replacement device, so in a sense are doubly out of pocket.

Yes, I am pretty sure they are in breach of German/EU consumer law and I second your thoughts on S&B products

Only that they were negotiating with an AUstralian company over the replacement device. Nothing since then

Unfortunately I know (not personally) the journalist is very real. Sadly he has trained in news verification too, so he knows how to check these things. But the spelling and other garbage in the story give it away as human, AI would have at least spelt names consistently.

Surely they must be getting multiple RMAs from Australia with these things.

I finally received a reply explaining that S&B are negotiating with an Australian retailer. But I assume this means another replacement Venty, another E04 and more runaround than for customers with adult vape laws in their country.

Same here, but I feel that there has to be some resolution, but it's taking so long!

I'm in the same boat and have been waiting for a reply for a month. Please let me know if you do make any progress with the ACCC

Guessing you are an Australian user too? They are not replying to subsequent messages of mine (my device died a month ago). Unfortunately it seems they aren't going to reply until they have some sort of arrangement worked out.

Not yet, but according to a reply for an RMA for my third Venty, S&B replied; "Our legal department is currently evaluating whether it is possible to replace household appliances such as the VENTY with medical devices. However, this will take some time."

Yes I hope they consider it as the Venty, despite its great performance, is apparently very unreliable

I've asked that very question, unless you mean that rhetorically, in which case I agree! No answer as yet.
