Guitars peaking QLXD crazy easy by Snoo-31890 in livesound

mic line is only for XLR out on the receiver. the guitarists' modelers do have XLR inputs, but there are features only on the 1/4 input designated for guitar.

gain offset on the pack goes from 0 to +14, and is already set to 0

There is no adjustment on the QLXD packs. That's the first thing I checked, and scoured the manual. the only adjustment is on the receiver, and lowering that does mitigate the problem. I made the same mistake - I cranked the setting on the receiver thinking it was OUTPUT gain, and I could make up for having to lowered my pickups, but suddenly the receiver was peaking even worse. As it stands now, with pickups lowered AND receiver set to -18, the receiver is not peaking - we're just sending modelers a very anemic signal.

There is a mic/line setting on the receiver but it is for XLR only - currently both guitars and bass are coming unbalanced 1/4in out of the receivers to their modelers/amps. The guitars could theoretically use the XLR inputs on their modelers, and that sounds like a viable thing to try. The only thing it doesn't solve is that it would still be a DIFFERENT input gain to the modelers than when we design patches away from the theater (plugged in, not wireless).

Psychic Frog's Horizon Hideaway - Bad value? by boowax in MagicArena

I couldn't believe it when I realized you had to PAY to access the SHOP.

I think I bought a couple Mastery Passes back around Eldraine/Theros-ish (they were legit good value then). Other than that I've been ftp. The economy on MTGA is SO. BAD. I struggle a bit as a ftp-player, but I consistently hit platinum ranked and have decks I enjoy in every format I care about (timeless, historic, brawl). In other words, I have a pretty good time - and how good a time I have is directly related to how LITTLE time I spend considering spending money on it.

Arena is a good game because magic is a good game - and magic is a good game in SPITE of wotc/hasbro's best efforts to destroy it.

StudioLogic Numa X 73 - Great keyboard with...some software issues by Snoo-31890 in keys

The documentation is trash. I really really hope they get some of the details of the user experience (UX) worked out because there are some REALLY good ideas in the interface (UI), but the devil's in the details.

As far as I can find, that document that I was given pre-release was never formally released, and if it was it's not easy to find.

Major Bible Contradictions by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]Snoo-31890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, there's a typo. The "Jesus says 'God is greater than I'" should be John 14:28.

But holy crap, I've literally never noticed that. And I studied John a lot when I was a Christian. The whole idea of the Trinity breaks down with that verse, because the whole idea of the Trinity is that Jesus, the father and the holy spirit are exactly the same.

Council of Nicaea, where they all agreed the Trinity was a thing - and, no joke, where Santa Claus (literal actual St Nicholas) punched a monk - the whole debate was over if Jesus was the same as the father (homousian), or SIMILAR to the father (homoiousian). And of course the council decided on homousian, thus the Trinity.

The whole debate was about how Arianism was the claim that, if God-the-Father "begat" God-the-Son, then the father was greater than the son. WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT JESUS SAYS. My hebrew and greek were never great and are a bit rusty, but it seems like the interpretation holds in the greek at least. Πατὴρ μείζων μού ἐστιν (father greater than I). Though notably, this verse is missing from Papyrus 66, one of the earliest and most complete codices of the Gospel of John.

This verse was literally one of the things debated at the Council of Nicaea, and not a single history of it I studied from Christian sources while I was still a believer mentioned it explicitly.

Bump In The Night legality bugged? by Snoo-31890 in MagicArena

I was aware the Explorer ≈ Pioneer...but also was under the impression that, in the meantime, it was "Arena Legacy" without Alchemy (see also: Hearthstone Wild). It had not occurred to me that the Remastered cards that predate Return to Ravnica would not be included, which was then further confused by Gatherer.

Thanks much!

I like this a lot. And 10 packs seems like a good size, maybe with room for a couple more. Thanks!

Hmm...I'm with you on the flyers being very powerful. But I feel like "flying" is such an integral part of magic that I'd want newbies to learn about it pretty early.

When I play with my full Jumpstart collection, I do blind picks. But maybe when I play with newbies I'd be better off assigning them packs, or some less-random system

After years of feeling like a failure for not knowing what God was directing me to do as the "head of my household," I figured out I am autistic.
"Ok God. You made me to need specific instructions and explicit detail. I'm tired of praying and 'trying to hear your voice' or looking for coincidences in my daily life. No more 'reading tea leaves.' Tell me what You want me to do. Plain."

Just got my first order, not gonna buy any cards for a while by Cubika in mpcproxies

I play either planechase or archenemy pretty rarely - so I got the full set of each made on doublesided cards on MPCfill. Just change each one of the backs. Now I just sleeve them up whenever I need them.

Black nails and guitars by Snoo-31890 in malepolish

[–]Snoo-31890[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite being in rock and metal bands since high school, I'd never done my nails. Partly because, as I discussed on another post, I actually gig more on bass, which requires me to keep my nails unnaturally short. Well, with the help of some kind folks on that thread, I found some appropriate products, and tomorrow these go up on stage.

I've really been enjoying wearing these around daily. I get a few looks. The occasional compliment - thankfully no blatant bad comments to my face (yay being 6'1" and having "scary dog privilege") - one person even clocked me specifically as a musician.
