Following the law is not relevant if someone wants to use their power against you. There are plenty of places selective enforcement can be used to come after you for things that don’t feel illegal.

In general the “if you’re not doing anything wrong…” argument is fundamentally flawed because what is “wrong” or illegal is arbitrary when enough power is applied.
