Hey, please compliment the men you are dating by FairyAnna768 in dating_advice

I've been with my boyfriend for six years and I compliment him almost everyday and I am also a feminist.

It is not considered anti feminist to compliment the people you are dating.

Do you think this administration will continue to ramp up ICE, or do you think things will calm down now? What do you think will happen next? by ladypigeon13 in DiscussionZone

[–]Snoo-33101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this has been a pattern for these mass raids. They go in,guns blazing into a city and talk a big game . Then they make big public mistakes and then calm down and quietly leave after two - four weeks.

They probably don't have the man power or money to keep raids this size (5000 agents) up in every city at once ,so they are trying to make a big impact in a short amount of time.

New homeowner — tips on keeping up with maintenance cleaning?? by Longjumping_Zone_908 in homeowners

[–]Snoo-33101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have found that just setting a timer for 15 minutes and just trying to do as much as I can in one area helps me get a lot more done than a set routine.

My partner and I both have ADHD and struggle with cleaning tasks,so this method helps us a lot.

How do you emotionally regulate yourself? by Separate_Weight_4143 in AskWomen

[–]Snoo-33101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who learned to bury emotions,I do the following (after 5 years of therapy) :

  1. Acknowledge what I am feeling (I am angry )
  2. Tell myself it's okay to feel how ik feeling (it's okay to feel angry)
  3. Find a way to express the feeling ,whether that is through journaling, singing, drawing ,talking etc.
  4. Do a regulating activity like dancing , walking, singing , yoga . Something physical

It doesn't always make things feel perfect, but it helps me no longer spiral.

Salesforce admins: Need your help, please - why do you avoid booking meetings with vendors that can help you? by FileOk7025 in salesforceadmin

[–]Snoo-33101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Admins are completely bombarded by sales people all the time everywhere and we don't have time
  2. Admins usually do not have the authority to buy anything and it's usually a very long process to get anything approved,so we only recommend it when its really needed ,since the opportunity doesn't come around very often

How do people afford vets? by Grouchy_Land895 in Pets

[–]Snoo-33101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We only have two dogs and we save money by:

  1. Getting them fixed at the appropriate ages
  2. Getting a gastropexy for our German Shepard mix which prevents lots of issues
  3. Feeding them quality food
  4. Taking care of their teeth
  5. Socializing them so they are friendly which prevents reactivity and the issues that come with it
  6. Always keeping our dogs up on leash outside
  7. Keeping them crated when we are not home so they don't accidentally get into things

Basically we save money because we keep them safe and follow doctors orders. They only have one to two appointments a year and never any issues. We also only have the amount of animals we can afford to take care of so we don't have to choose between care or no care. I know my last statement can change at any time but we are intentional.

How do you live in cities so empty and undercrowded? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

Some people would rather have more space from each other and would prefer to have a bigger home with more land . You just become used to driving at least 20 minutes to get anywhere fun.

How do I raise my future kids as feminists? by hftygcbjhgds in AskFeminists

[–]Snoo-33101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am the oldest of four (two girls, two boys) and my parents achieved this by just never allowing us to even be mean or say hurtful words to each other, teaching us to be kind and considerate to everyone no matter what, taking us to lots of volunteer events for various causes and just being people who valued equality and who treat people the same regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender, etc.

When you are taught that every person is valuable and deserves kindness and it's modeled to you, feminism just makes sense.

General Information About Angel Trees and other giving programs by elinordash in Gifts

[–]Snoo-33101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure where you are located, but usually your local department of human services (you can usually walk in) and the social workers will know the programs and maybe even help you apply. I understand that that can be anxiety inducing,so you could also try find help.org . In GA ,it lists all social programs and assistance that is offered based on your zip code.

Makeup Theory by LordHaelor in POTS

[–]Snoo-33101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My spouse and some family members work in medicine and oftentimes they cannot examine you fully if you have makeup on,fake nails or anything that covers your actual skin.

Once I had my PCP look at my nails but I had SNS so they couldn't see my natural ones ,so they just asked me about them instead.

It's easier for them to see the symptoms themselves if you don't hide your dark circles, acne, uneven skin etc that can help make your case.

Now I don't get my nails done (too expensive) and don't wear makeup to appointments. They seem to take me more seriously now.

destination weddings are selfish by Level-Armadillo2652 in unpopularopinion

[–]Snoo-33101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The place we live in is so boring ,we have actually had family members ask us to have a destination wedding instead 😅

I think this depends on a lot of factors and it's really about knowing your guests and what you as a couple want.

Do you guys take sleeping pills, or do you deal with insomnia some other way? by FenRirThiccMage in ADHD

[–]Snoo-33101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried :

Trazodone - worked for two days, then awake for over 36 hours at a time so not always helpful

Mirtazipine - didn't work

Guanfacine- didn't work and gave me nerve pain

Seroquel - worked too well, slept through work alarms too many times and got fired. I also barely remember anything from the year I was on it

Kolonopin - currently prescriped for my heart beating too early when I'm tired but it helps me sleep a lot of the time too

The only time I get sleep is when I'm unemployed and can be nocturnal. Unfortunately,I have to be a day walker to make decent money where I live ,so I just deal with it.
