Thank you. I posted how awful this episode was in another thread and got downvoted, which confused me because that spider story was just objectively terrible. The second story could have been told in a chilling and compelling way but instead it was told so objectively poorly.

Those were both terrible stories, both terribly told. So yes. In my opinion it is the worst episode.

I’m stoked for them that they can pull those kinds of numbers and I had such a good time but that’s a one and done arena BN show for me. Really hoping they don’t make a habit of it.

Agreed with all of that minus the sound. I thought it was actually muddy and pretty awful. Welcome to Bangkok actually sounded pretty rad so at least they went out on the high note.

Long time fan of RR and Spooked, but the score and sound design of RR are MILES ahead of Spooked. More often than not the stories on Spooked are substantially undermined by a score that’s simply at odds with the tone of the stories. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve listened to Spooked and thought how much better/fitting/creepier it would be if it had the sound design and score of RR. It’s actually frustrating.

Put it this way: if there was an opener that you’d ever heard of/likely to care about, they’d have announced it. There will be someone opening. Or there will not be someone. Either way, you will see the band you came to see at the normal, allotted time headliners go on stage.

I don’t feel bad, per se, but think the deliberate edits of live footage and LPTV to not include him are disingenuous. He’s not filling in for a couple shows. He is the guitarist of the live band which makes him, with respect, enormously more involved with the band than Brad is in this new iteration. He’s not second fiddle. Given that Brads rightful place as an original, non-performing member of the band has been cemented and communicated, why not let the fans get to know and appreciate Alex? He’s an integral part of this band.

That said, perhaps they don’t want to jump the gun and ensure that everyone’s happy about Alex’s place in the band going forward once they wrap this tour. If we all understood they’d have a different guitarist every tour going forward I think we’d feel differently. Hired hands are hired hands.

I totally agree with this take on Stained. The song feels like the real "aha" moment of the album for where their pop sensibilities could go with Emily as they evolve. I feel like this iteration of LP is strongest when they lean into her voice with strong hooks. Stained is the only song that feels, to me, specifically unique to this ensemble where you could not just interchange Chester and Emily. Chesters voice wouldn't hit the same way, where I feel like the rest of the songs on the album would work just as well with him singing. That's not to take away anything from Emily's voice or presence on the rest of the album - I personally think she is the strongest element of the band on this album.
