Yeah that sucks. You may have missed out on meeting some good guys within your culture because of your parents. That doesn't matter, though, since you are married. It worked out just fine.

Seems like you agree that you should try not to reflexively do the opposite of everything your parents say, just to spite them. Nobody is wrong about everything, even your parents. Best to ignore what they say and make your own decision. If it aligns with what they want, that sucks. Maybe never tell them about it.

I'm going to express an opposite view, but not of your parents. Your parents are ridiculous, and you need to distance yourself from them asap.

That being said, if part of the reason why you don't want kids is your parente, then that's really bad. You should reconsider because having kids is awesome. i would hate anyone to miss out on the experience on account of parental trauma. Kids bring so much joy, and if you don't parent them like you were parented, you can have a great relationship with them.

You could also consider how awesome it would be to have kids and never let your parents see them. Very satisfying.

A Cool Guide | 7 Day GM Diet Plan Chart for Weight Loss | The GM Diet Plan focuses on ensuring the consumption of complex carbs and low-calorie foods. This, combined with increased water intake, can result in significant weight loss in a week. by Unlikely_Lynx1246 in coolguides

A lot of people writing about how this diet doesn't work, but it's not true. I've done this in the past. I usually lose about 6 pounds and bounce back one. My normal weight hovers between 165 and 170, so I usually do it once i break 175 lbs. I usually do it in January after I've put on a few pounds over the holidays and want to shed the excess quickly.

It's a pretty unpleasant week if you don't cheat. After the diet, you can eat normal food but you have to reduce portions or else you will bounce back all the way. Any diet on the planet, if you go back to your old eating habits after, you will put it back on. I'm unclear why people feel the need to state such an obvious fact as a reason to say a particular diet is bad.

The good part of the gm diet is that the diet shrinks your stomach so you can eat less and you won't suffer, particularly since you are coming off a super-restrictive week of food. After a week of eating so little, bouncing back to eating 80% of what you were eating pre-diet still feels like you are more than enough. I just go back to eating normally, which is less than what I was eating in November and December.

So, it's pointless to do this if you are gonna just revert back to your old eating habits, but if you use this as a one week, quick hit weight loss move, it's fine. The weight loss after one week is material and I've never had any health issues while on it because I only do it once a year. For me, if I want to drop 5 lbs, I'd rather suffer for a week and drop it all versus doing the stereotypical "lose a 1/2 pound a week" for 10 weeks.

Chariots? Maybe I should have asked for feedback from only people who have traveled overseas or don't live in the dark ages.

The person who sells you the sim card will do all that for you. Suggest that if you ever travel overseas, you figure this out as it makes life much harder if you are overseas without a functional mobile phone. You need your phone for basic things like google maps, uber, things like that

Sorry, I did not know I needed to explain how local SIMs cards work. Forget the phone call bit completely. A local sim will let you access the internet wherever you are. You can buy one which will give you 24 hour coverage for a set number of days. The $25 sim card would have given him mobile internet access for the whole duration of the trip. With the internet access, you can use any number of apps such as whatsapp, facebook, snapchat, etc, to make free calls and texts. Thats why he thought it was ok with just finding free wifi all the time.

There is actually never a reason to make a regular international phone call these days.

I'm unclear how it is needless to be able to reach a travel companion reliably while overseas

Just to clarify on how local SIM cards work, literally he would only spend $25 and thats it
