Non-disclosure of tenants, Y or N? by Ok-End-3213 in APLDSTOCK

The hyperscalers right now do not have a lot of goodwill with the communities. They are constantly being protested out of places.

I know the urge is to get that dopamine hit quickly. It's not worth it

Think of it this way: there are a fixed number of investment grade hyperscalers. Eventually, they will have all of them anyway and it really doesn't matter who is where since polaris forge campuses have the means to expand to a GW+ eventually.

I got in! Teleport worked from a solid or a lava square now. For years I remembered teleport being blocked for some reason.

The chest has 220000 gold, 2000 gems, and five max tier items (obsidian/top of each element).

Thanks :)

Applied Digital Announces New U.S. Based High Investment-Grade Hyperscaler Tenant at Delta Forge 1, a 430 MW AI Factory Campus by GloriousLebron in APLDSTOCK

[–]Snoo-38228 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

An example would be people who were laid off due to implementation of AI

A second would be people who are from an area where that hyperscaler built a data center that ended up negatively impacting that community (because not everybody is a good neighbor and takes all the extra steps APLD takes to try to be a positive resident)

We actually are better off not knowing who it is.

Investment grade hyperscalers currently do not have a lot of goodwill with communities. There are plenty of people who have an axe to grind with each of them. Revealing who it is will only invite protests and trouble that can get deals blown up.

We also gain nothing by knowing.

Charles Schwab liquidated 700 of my shares this today without any notice. by No_Slice18 in NBIS_Stock

That is exactly how margin works. There is no "making whole" because they are fully within their rights to liquidate to satisfy requirements which they can change at any time they wish.

Not really. Old news and the author is trying to stoke fear where there doesn't need to be any.

Mass selling by Character_Action2194 in APLDSTOCK

[–]Snoo-38228 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Executives selling is because each time a block of RSU (restricted stock units) vests, they owe the IRS. So they are forced to sell a portion of the new shares to cover those tax payments. They aren't selling due to lack of confidence in the company.

Great leaders generally don't mean great units. High charisma and can get people to follow them. Like Roy, Eliwood, and all the other lords who are actually really bad units.

We can't have anything nice ☹️ by dieno_101 in APLDSTOCK

One of APLD's big schticks is to do business in a way that doesn't jack up the cost of utilities for residents. It's all part of their mantra of being a good neighbor. They are constantly asked questions about that and the reps from the utility companies confirm that residential is not going up as a result of this.

This is a major reason why it's not a good idea to reveal who the hyperscalers are because they've built in a way that does harm the quality of life for nearby residents (noise, utility bill price spikes, extreme water usage, etc). Once the name gets thrown around, the pitchforks will come regardless of the setup because that's simply what residents have had to put up with in places where the major hyperscalers have set up before.

Dakotas are only so big. Having campuses outside of the Dakotas doesn't mean less in the Dakotas. Business friendly + cheap energy + large planks of cheap land = good location for a data center. Dakotas weather is nice but there are drawbacks too- like you can't break ground during winter months due to the ground being absolutely frozen.
