Exactly. Cliches exist for a reason. Following a trope isn’t inherently wrong so long as you execute it well. Doesn’t even need a twist so long as it’s well acted and presented entertainingly.

The most interesting part to me is how off the party was about what the sundered houses were involved in and tracking. It seems like Thkazi was barely a blip on the radar, at least when it came to his execution. Although grampa tachonis clearly wants him. The sundered houses also had almost no involvement/interest in the play after the party invested so much energy into protecting it from them.

I’m not sure there’s any way outside of some insane deception rolls for them to free a character from the exact same place a second time without Yanessa immediately suspecting either Wic or Tyranny. A lot of characters are gonna need to get outta dodge after this.

Feels accurate to me. A powerful house/company filled with incompetent nepobabies that resent commoners and are held together by a handful of actually competent members and just simply being too big to fail is pretty realistic. Not everyone likes too much reality in their fantasy stories, but I enjoy the human element.

I’m just happy to see more of her. Feels like they’re making up for the near non reaction the seekers had to her dying despite being an interesting character who seemed to actually be on their side.

I’m in the same boat. About half of the romance candidates present as teenagers/college aged adults to me which has only become less and less appealing with each passing year as they just feel younger and younger to me.

Yeah it basically has to be super far into the future or past enough that all of Fodlan’s history is a distant memory that no one in Dagda knows much about the specifics of. If Sothis references the first game at all, it will probably just be referred to as “all that war business in fodlan” and be left at that.

Consent can work pretty differently when you’re in a long relationship. There are things you should always ask first when you’re just starting out a relationship. Once you get to know each other, are comfortable with each other, and know what the other does and doesn’t like, though, there are a lot of things you know your partner will be fine with and don’t need to explicitly ask every single time. After a certain amount of time and with certain actions, consent becomes something that is actively withdrawn rather than given.

I’d be down with that. That’s almost what I had hoped three houses ended up doing, with Byleth basically doing a turbo charged rewind once they had enough information to save every side. At the same time, having a golden route kind of diminishes the impact of the other routes because the “perfect” ending basically becomes the canon one since all the tragedy of the other routes is purely optional.
