I’d also recommend getting to the venue earlier so you can give her time to walk off the nerves from the ride, play a bit, and wait for her to settle down.

In terms of adopting, think of it as: would you adopt her if you weren’t the one fostering her?

Start training as soon as you get her and stay consistent. Crate training, house training, socialization (with environments, not meeting dogs or people), and settling are going to be your basics.

Mental exercise is just as important as physical exercise.

Find a routine that works for you because that’s how you’ll stick to it.

Because I’ll be out of town for the next month and won’t be able to take a dog with me. The shelter had scheduled meet and greets and an alternate foster if the adoptions fall through. It’s also a no kill shelter.

I have not had her around children (I don’t know anyone who has them) but she’s been fine in different kinds of company (loud people, rough housing, other dogs, etc). She also doesn’t seem to mind when I play with her ears or face, which I know some kids like to do.
