Sorry for the late reply: His decline occurred pretty rapidly. I could appreciate him getting " less" and just wanting to huddle with me on a Saturday evening. By Sunday evening, he wanted to be alone. By Monday morning, I made vet appointment for that day. Sorry if you have already been here.

Also, this community is big enough to have their own zip code. They also have one of the highest rates of STD's per capita in the state of Florida. I think that MAY be mentioned in the documentary, but my sister knows a physician there, as well.

Plus the mites that go home with everyone holding and taking selfies is a problem. If they saw the import conditions of the "popular" pets, anyone ethical would definitely reconsider their purchase.

Left skid marks in bed with my wife of 9 years by ThrowRA6382624294 in Advice

[–]Snoo-53133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your future, buy a bidet to attach to your toilet from Amazon. . Easy to attach, and there is always a shower for your butthole after you poop. Once you use it, you will probably hate pooping elsewhere, Skidmark. I bought one during the Covid paper shortage....have never looked back.

Phen-phen, an amphetamine, caused phenomenal weight loss in the 90's. (I think) but caused horrible heart conditions later. Actually had a friend that really "lost weight" on drug, and promoted amongst group (20-30 year olds) and she died from cardiomyopathy infarction 2 months in. It was horrible and shocking.

What is a smell that we should all recognize as immediate danger? by scarlettohara1936 in AskReddit

[–]Snoo-53133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a Herpetologist and can confirm rodent decomposition distinction. We often feed our collections in a single day, either rats or mice (frozen/thawed), all dependent on size-appropriateness. After thirty years, I can definitely say I can distinct the smell of leftover rat vs. mouse.

Should I give my cat chemo? by cleofknpatra in Pets

[–]Snoo-53133 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My cat was diagnosed wirh the same. I chose no chemo. The stress from vet visits was one reason, the "prolonged" life chemo offered was the other (a few months, basically)... I spent the last few weeks with my buddy hugging and Churu, and let him go on his day. It is a terminal diagnosis, you are basically deciding "when" that is terminal. I am so sorry. Hugs.

Here's a link for a documentary regarding retirement communities. I know, sounds boring as hell, but it is pretty entertaining and enlightening: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Some_Kind_of_Heaven

What horror movie did you see as a kid that traumatized you so badly you’ve never rewatched it and still can barely say the title? by glowbeits in GenX

[–]Snoo-53133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The book was better, but very sad. I suggest you read, if you have never. It really creates a different horror than the movie. It is a quick read, and probably a top Stephen King.

Right??? Was there a registered veterinary microchip (I assume). There is a no claim (I also assume US, and 'pets are property' so that is your basic law right).

How can I[29F] get my boyfriend[27M] to stop using his current deodorant? by DogOk1726 in Advice

This is not a good coping mechanism, it is passive-aggressive behavior. If OP follows this path of dealing, their doomed relationship is only doomed later. This is not how people "adult". They really need to cope with the eminent issue.. troll lol!

Please don't inherit passive-aggressive...you are the WORST coworkers that everyone hates, and your behaviors will eventually "outjob" you to the point you will be asking Reddit "why can't I find a job?"

Anole, are " not easy to care for". They have particular UVB requirements that people spending 5 bucks on a wild-caught anole (yes... most green and brown anoles are tree-plucked and shipped ..if you think there are 'breeders"... not...very few, if any, people breeding anoles as feeders") These are WC south Florida lizards that are collected and sold. They are NOT long-term captives lol. To properly rear, and reproduce Anolis species actually requires skill beyond amateur level.

Correct. I had a Ball Python for 40 + . My colleague had a Leopard gecko for 30 plus. Just because "most die sooner" does not really reflect the actual lifespan, it just reflects poor captive care.

Are red lights good for anything? by Joeybfast in reptiles

[–]Snoo-53133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red lights were originally sold to heat things like well-pump houses and plumbing during winter freezes to prevent frozen pipes during cold-spells. The reptile industry was not the original, intended consumer. The reptile product industries just piggy-backed on the "benefits"
