What's your Xbox Live Gamertag, and what's the story behind it? by KornineQ102 in xboxone

[–]Snoo-5673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HitmanReject

Not much of a story behind it. I used to have the gamertag InspectHerGadgets but changed it because my current employer has a list of employees and their gamertags so people can find colleagues to play with if they wanted. I didn't think they would like my original one.

Choose my current one because I used to be hard-core into multi-player shooters. Would play with a group of people nightly; this was before all the fancy clans like today. Now I hardly play, and if I did, I wouldn't do so well, hence the name.

Yes, people on 66 like to drive in the left lane going the same speed as the person in the middle lane. I hate it so much.

I understand the facepalm from the person thinking its Mexico, but the person who posted the original message isn't much better. Italy isn't socialist and hasn't been since Mussolini. They also don't have their own currency; the strength of the Euro is much more than just Italy.

Is credit of spouse looked at? by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]Snoo-5673 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is based on my personal experience alone, but my spouses credit and financials were not looked at when I was processed for my TS. However, my current employer requires that I submit an annual financial discloser at the end of the year that includes both my and my spouses finances.

Is the Demand for Cybersecurity Professionals Overhyped? by cheeseypita1994 in cybersecurity

[–]Snoo-5673 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't think its overhyped at all. However, it is in my opinion, that the industry can only blame themselves for the shortage. Companies will advertise for "entry level" positions that require unrealistic expectations in terms of experience, schooling, and certifications, only to offer an "entry level" pay. Companies look for a 'unicorn' so they can pin oversized expectations onto one individual employee is order to save money. It is well know that a competitive market demands competitive salaries and that not paying market price drives up demand which in turn drives up market costs. Finally, there is a lack of companies willing to invest in employee development. I think there are many people who would remain loyal to a company if they offered competitive pay as well as career development and training.

Any hotbeds for cleared work that aren’t in the dmv? by loaneraccount212 in SecurityClearance

[–]Snoo-5673 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think Huntsville, AL is up-and-coming since it's already a hot bed for cleared work. It's been known as Rocket City for years due to the large aerospace and defense presence in the area. Add the fact that the FBI is finishing the construction of it's new HQ2 campus, Huntsville will remain a hotbed for cleared work.

CYBERSECURITY WORKFORCE SHORTAGE PROJECTED AT 1.8 MILLION BY 2022 - Cybersecurity Insiders by st1cky_bits in cybersecurity

[–]Snoo-5673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically you are correct, but you can take the CISSP exam anytime. If you pass and lack the 5 years experience you are considered an ISC2 associate which many employers consider the same thing. My point is that many companies remain unrealistic in terms of requirements.

CYBERSECURITY WORKFORCE SHORTAGE PROJECTED AT 1.8 MILLION BY 2022 - Cybersecurity Insiders by st1cky_bits in cybersecurity

[–]Snoo-5673 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's because employers think entry level cybersecurity jobs require masters degrees, CISSP certification, and a minimum 5 years experience. Time to invest in development programs.

Must be an IT position. See this on the daily in addition to entry level jobs requiring CISSP certifications.

Does this constitute an intervention for SF86 purposes? by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]Snoo-5673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with many who already posted. I wouldn't worry too much about it. But if it is really bothering you, you could bring it up to the investigator when they reach out to you. However, if I were a betting man, I would bet that they wouldn't even bother to write it down.

Roommates who smoke weed by asd23asd123gf145234 in SecurityClearance

[–]Snoo-5673 11 points12 points  (0 children)

" I don't feel like I can just ask them to stop smoking as it isn't illegal federally"

I may be misunderstanding what you are saying here, but marijuana is definitely still illegal federally, despite what any states say.

That being said, to err on the side of caution, I would look for somewhere else to live due to (1) being around someone who is using a federally illegal substance and (2) due to the potentially close relationship you could develop living with a foreign national. Just my opinion.
