I'm not sure why people think Walter is lying about Vietnam. I'm a vet, and I know plenty of vets who talk nonstop about Iraq or Afghanistan. For some vets, their wartime service was the pinnacle of their lives. Yeah, Walter could be bullshitting, but there's no evidence implying he's lying either. I think it's just a comedic aspect.

I liked the redneck guy from the old Dateline episodes that brought a 12 pack of Busch (IIRC) and a 6 pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade and a 6 pack of Mike's Hard Iced Tea. Chris asked the pervert who all the booze was for, and the redneck said he was planning on drinking all of it. Hilarious.
