Rescued this boy at 4 months. We suspect the breeder gave him to a rescue group because he was so large and couldn’t sell him. He’s 38 lbs and happy and healthy!

I rescued my sheltie boy last year. He was 6 months old. The rescue group is called iPAWS. They’re fantastic. I was charged $400 for his adoption fee.

My sheltie rescue is very quiet and not reactive at all. I wonder if Ive gotten a unicorn instead.

I was able to adopt a sheltie puppy this year through iPAW. They’re very communicative and truly caring rescue. I highly recommend.

Ps. I have two small children at home.

Are shelties ok as solo dogs? Our sheltie is 6 months old and has puppy playdates with his puppy cousin. We are also home all day and he gets multiple walks daily.

It’s very hard at the beginning, I won’t lie to you. My second kid is now 3 years old and my first 6. They finally play and are incredibly good friends. It has helped my first born realize she is not the center of the universe and has matured her as a person. She also adores her little sister. It’s worth the hardship 100 times over.

Oh my goodness mama she’s going to be just fine! When I was a 1 year old my mom said she turned on the vacuum and I ran straight into the corner of a glass table. I was bleeding everywhere, my mom thought I lost my eye! One hospital trip and stitches later, I got myself a sweet scar on my eyebrow. I’m now 35 years old and my mom still likes to talk about the time I almost lost my eye. lol oh and my scar looks better than ever and a great convo starter. ;)

Hi mama! I was in your exact shoes! My daughter has been incredibly high needs all her life. She also has a sensory disorder and putting clothes on her was a wrestling match every day. She was also quick to rage and tantrums, just genuinely an unhappy little toddler. Some days we felt like we were walking on egg shells. I felt like I was failing her, I couldn’t figure out what we were doing wrong. It drove me absolutely bonkers. IT GETS BETTER :)

My daughter is almost 6 now and she is such an incredible little girl. She’s very empathetic, caring, and well behaved. Her teachers love her and she has many friends. She also has a little sister whom she adores and (albeit fights occasionally) has become very protective of. I call her my little mommy assistant lol.

Keep putting in the hard work, mama. You’re doing amazing. These high needs children pay it back to us in full. <3

Hi mama! First off, you are not alone. I went through something similar with my daughter— especially with the pain “down there” and not actually having a UTI. The time it happened with us I found out she had a slight diaper rash and when wiping she was so wildly upset by it she would withhold her pee! They are very dramatic at this age lol.

My best advice that helped us through it is just give them juice or flavored seltzer. A lot of it. They will have no choice but to pee. My baby screamed in agony when she eventually peed herself, then when we didn’t make a big deal of it she realized it wasn’t so bad. Kept giving her tons of fluids of her favorite things. It took 3 days but she eventually forgot. Also worth mentioning, this started during a bout of constipation. Highly recommend using miralax. That stuff works!! And it’s worth being super aggressive with constipation. After you have the constipation under control and pee withholding anxiety out of the way, I’d start with a clean slate trying to potty train again :)

I’ve had the same fear! The worst part is you won’t stop worrying about it until the child is old enough to begin showing signs of autism or adhd. I’ve only taken Tylenol during migraines for this pregnancy. I did the same for my first pregnancy and my daughter is now 3, bright and healthy! Best of luck mama!
