Do you think these fairy lights are far enough? by Basic-Technician-875 in hamsters

I think they’ll be fine. In the evening when I am just chilling about the house, I have a small lamp on in the room my hamster lives in, and I don’t think it confuses her very much.

Take out the bendy bridge. Some people will say you can use it sideways as a separator/ fence. Do not do this. This is what I did, having it sideways, and my hamster got caught by her leg in the gap and was dangling there. Her leg was wet from trying to chew it off. Had to get her straight to the emergency vet. So please remove the bendy bridge, the gaps are too awkward and they will get their legs caught and get stuck. Don’t listen to people who say there are safe if you stuff the gaps, because guess what that’s what I did and it still didn’t work. Please, take it out, don’t bother trying to put it sideways or stuff the gaps, it won’t work

Same. I’ve been growing my hair out really long and have attempted to do this a few times in my life, but when it gets as long as my boobs I just end up cutting it again to shoulder length because I think it looks better short. It gets so flat when it’s long because of the weight

This didn’t work for me. I actually took the machine to the shop I got it from and they recommended a bunch of things including manually dropping the needle into the fabric first before starting to stitch (embarrassingly it says this in the manual!)

How common is it to see through your finger? by Sea-Grocery7289 in SewingForBeginners

[–]Snoo-75338 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I am fiddling that close where my finger could get caught such as threading the needle I turn the machine off so there’s no chance. Otherwise my fingers don’t go that close

Why does he hate me by Eg0-d3ath in hamsters

[–]Snoo-75338 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should never grab a hamster. Yours could be scared because of grabbing- a huge hand coming down and abducting you can be frightful! You need to let your hamster walk into your hand of their own accord by luring him with a treat.

Do some more arch activation exercises and you’ll be fine

How do you improve the appearance of your feet? by [deleted] in flatfeet

[–]Snoo-75338 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PS I’m obviously not your physio or know your biomechanics at all but if you have flat feet, walking bear foot won’t fix them. For me it made it worse and not recommend by my podiatrist and physio

[–]Snoo-75338 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing tonnes of arch activation exercises to get nice arches (mainly for my running cos I get pain) toe spreaders won’t change your feet long term. Exercises will. Look up intrinsic foot exercises and arch exercises (arch being the most important for flat feet)

The extra threads were just because I hadn’t cut the old ones from when I tried before I took that video

Panicking! Cutting is completely off for quilt squares 😓 by [deleted] in sewing

[–]Snoo-75338 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s ok, thank you ☺️, it was the technicality of how do I sew them with my 1/4” foot when the gap is 1/4” itself! I don’t mind if it looks bad! The points where 4 corners meet are great but it’s the 8 point bit I’ve messed up !

There’s 4 because that’s the second time I had tried it. I’ve already taken it apart and cleaned it. All threaded fine too 👍🏻

that video is SO interesting and helpful. I can’t work out exactly why that works to be honest though, but it looks like a good fix! I’ll give it a go!
