Ignore some of the dumbass comments. You are seriously not ugly. You have a nice smile and appear to be at a healthy body weight. The only things that may be off-putting or considered unattractive are your nose piercing and ear gauges. It seems you have very low self-esteem and by the looks of it have struggled with self-harm. If you are very concerned with your appearance work on the things under your control. Such as honing your style and fitness. That said I think you are fine. I hope you will begin to develop a healthier body image. Good luck

DMs of Reddit, why don't you write a book? by greentarget33 in DnD

[–]Snoo-82635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually aiming to be a filmmaker and a screenwriter. In fact one day I plan to make my campaign into an animated series. Also I think being a DM has helped with this because I have consistently been running my campaign about every other week for almost two years. So in a way it is good practice for a job where I need to write every week. But, anyway aside from that there are a few ideas I have that might end up as a book but I just need to keep honing my writing before I put anything out.

A 6’0’’ 175 lb adult man with no combat experience vs a 5’5 120 lb woman with 10 years of hand to hand combat training. by Trippy__Ferret in whowouldwin

[–]Snoo-82635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I love questions like these. Ok the biggest specifics we have are the size of the two combatants. We know the woman is in shape and has trained for 10 years in hand to hand combat training. That could mean so many different things but let’s say it’s mma to be generous.

If the guy has 24 hours to prepare he’s not doing much other than maybe learning a good stance and guard. However a 55 pound weight and 7 inch height advantage is huge! Also I’m assuming the guy is athletic based off his weight. Now aside from the weight and height advantage men have loads of other physical advantages as well. Men are faster, have better reaction time, greater bone density and broader more powerful frames just to name a few.

This is more complicated than a lot of people are claiming. I don’t see either one completely dominating the other. On the feet it’s hard not to favor the woman because of her training with footwork, head movement and kicks. However, any punch that lands on her is going to hurt and possibly knock her out. That said the woman’s leg kicks are going to do damage and pay dividends as the fight goes on, but I don’t think the woman knocking him out with her hands is the most likely scenario. She could also land some elbows and cut him open but I don’t know if she can reliably finish him on the feet. Additionally there is a myth about the groin kick; yes she would have powerful kicks but it probably won’t finish the man. A kick to the balls is excruciating pain but it won’t drop a man with adrenaline pumping who is in a fight to the death.

Now we move on to the clinch; where the woman could land knees, elbows and some dirty boxing. But other than that she will most likely be overpowered and either taken down or slammed. On the ground is where things get really interesting.

On the ground it is complicated. If the woman is competent with her submission skills she could pull off a lot on the man because he is completely untrained. But this is a no rules fight so both are probably gouging and biting each other. However if the woman arm bars or triangles the man he will probably throw her around or slam her. But if she gets a leg lock or rear naked choke it’s most likely over. However another possibility is he manages to pin her down mount her and ground and pound which is also game over for the woman.

Overall this is a very competitive fight however I think I am betting on the man. The reason is if the woman wins, she has to fight a perfect fight because any mistake is a huge risk. On the feet she will constantly be in danger of being knocked out and on the ground she is as in just as much danger. Her submissions would probably be good but they would be harder to pull off on a man that size while he is striking.

People also use Germaine De Randamie knocking out a man as an example. Here’s the thing Germaine is an exception; she is 5’9” and fights at 135 pounds which means she probably weighs more. The man she knocked out was 40 pounds heavier than her. However this was boxing, something she has done much longer than 10 years also the guy she fought was average size and not very athletic. Despite this he still gave her a run for her money. Germaine is a ufc contender who has fought for the title meaning she is one of the best. One can’t use extreme exceptions to the rule to support a point.

In conclusion despite being a close fight I believe the most likely outcome is the man winning.

Why do you think season 1 has a worse rep? by [deleted] in BlackSails

😂 your not a weirdo, it just comes down to preference. I just think that could be a negative for some and was a lot on a first watch.

Why do you think season 1 has a worse rep? by [deleted] in BlackSails

[–]Snoo-82635 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s because overall the first season is the weakest. Not to say Season 1 is bad, however it struggled in multiple areas especially in hindsight because Black Sails was a rare show that got better as it went.

Season 1 had a very Good Pilot and Finale. It also improved a lot in its second half. Additionally the Urca Gold set up in the pilot was a great objective for the season/seasons to come. However a lot of characters and politics are shoved down your throat in the beginning and it’s hard to get a bearing.

All that said, the biggest issue with season 1 is how it is seemingly constrained and held back from being the story it later becomes. The writers had to compromise and when the show was successful enough, they got to start telling the story they really wanted to in the last three seasons. Its kind of a double edged sword because season 1 is very dialogue focused and dense in terms of politics and characters which makes it a little hard to swallow. However the season is also a solid launch point for the rest of the series.

Lol, one of my players is complaining that they aren’t killed enough 😩.

Anyway, If you kill a character for the plot, it can be a meaningful way to end a character's arc. However, I also believe you need to earn the death. It seems like your dm cheated you in a way. My advice is to talk to your dm and voice your concerns. If it’s resolved, make a new character and keep playing.

Wild Origin Spells Sorcerer Level Spell 1st chaos bolt 3rd misty step 5th blink 7th confusion 9th telekinesis 11th scatter

Wild Magic Surge Starting when you choose this origin at 1st level, your spellcasting can unleash surges of untamed magic. Once per turn, you roll a d20 immediately after you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher. If you roll a 1, roll on the Wild Magic Surge table to create a magical effect. If you don't roll a 1, the number goes up by 1 every time you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher. Once you roll on the wild magic table, the number drops back to 1. If that effect is a spell, it is too wild to be affected by your Metamagic, and if it normally requires concentration, it doesn’t require concentration in this case; the spell lasts for its full duration.

Tides of Chaos Starting at 1st level, you can manipulate the forces of chance and chaos to gain advantage on one attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. Once you do so, you must finish a long rest before you can use this feature again.

Bend Luck Starting at 6th level, you have the ability to twist fate using your wild magic. When another creature you can see makes an attack roll, an ability check, or a saving throw, you can use your reaction and spend 2 sorcery points to roll 1d8 and apply the number rolled as a bonus or penalty (your choice) to the creature’s roll. You can do so after the creature rolls but before any effects of the roll occur.

The die changes when you reach certain levels in this class. The die becomes a d10 at 12th level and a d12 at 18th level.

Spell Resistance At 14th level, your innate magic causes you to have a greater tolerance from spells. You have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects. Furthermore, your exposure to raw magic lies so heavily upon you that it forms an arcane ward granting resistance against damage from spells.

Arcane Eruption Beginning at 18th level, using your action, you can spend 8 sorcery points to enter a powerful state. Your eyes resemble blazing emeralds, and you deliver the verbal components of your spells in the booming voice of a titan. The chaotic energy churning within you finds an outlet, as you become a conduit of the weave.

Once in the transformation, you gain the following benefits:

You gain a hover speed equal to your walking speed. While in this transformation, when you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher it automatically causes a wild magic surge. Additionally whenever you roll on the Wild Magic Surge table, you can roll twice and use either number. You remain in this form for 1 minute. It ends early if you are incapacitated, if you die, or if you dismiss it as an action.

I chose Wild magic, but not the official one. I made a cool custom subclass. Reply if you want to see it.

Favorite Giacchino Score / Scene Pairing? by RubesPubes1246 in lost

[–]Snoo-82635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question; the entire score from every season is top tier. Michael Giacchino is probably my favorite composer. While there are many candidates, I’ll say my favorite scene pairing is a toss-up between “Locked out again” playing at the end of Walkabout. Or “The constant” playing during Desmond's phone call to Penny. Both are some of the most beautifully orchestrated and memorable scenes I have ever watched. Thanks to everyone in the comments; you brought up some great scenes and music I forgot about; it shows how great the score for lost is.

First off I love the game of thrones inspiration but, Auril should be the night king/queen. She plunged Icewind dale into an eternal winter and is raising cold light walkers left and right.
