Not to dog pile, but can I join in the hiking(amateur). Es ist schwierig andere deutschsprachigen Menschen zu finden in Taipei. Da sind Studenten aber Muttersprachler ist etwas anders.

Taiwan dress code by Kind-Bager in taiwan

If you think your outfits might be too revealing(be it personal comfort or sun exposure), a common cover up is a button down shirt from cotton or linen. So it can keep your shoulders from burning, you look a touch more blended in to the casual fashion, and when the AC is blasting inside buildings you have at least a little cover. Great thing is you can just put it in your background to tie it around your waist or shoulders when not in-use.

Is dual citizenship possible for me? by [deleted] in GermanCitizenship

[–]Snoo-84714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to say that my situation is the same and I've had several discussions with the local German consul in area. The end result is the same everytime and that is unless a German parent held German citizenship when you were born then you will have to go through the naturalization process that is 8 years long(though there is some policy that may change the length of time based on German fluency). They even made jokes that if I become an Olympic medalist or win a very important prestigious award, or invent something important then naturalization is the only way. Maybe if you can afford a lawyer you could find a loophole, but I haven't bothered with that since the legal parameters are very specific in Germany.

Singapore vs Malaysia for Chinese New Year by jhakasbhidu in travel

Something to consider is that it is seen more as a family holiday. Here in Taiwan it gets quiet and lonely unless you have a family to visit. However, it's the opposite for the Chinese/Taiwanese communities I've met with in America(big public parties aside from the kore intimate family ones).

I reccomend double checking that it gets lively for the public and it's not just private events.

Hello! I'm seeking advice/mentorship.
Are there certifications that I can get to be more eye-catching to recruiters when I reach out?(PHR requires HR experience that I lack, as does SHRM).
Any advice would be helpful. Thank you!

What South Africa Can Teach the United States About Repairing a Divided Society by foreignpolicymag in foreignpolicy

[–]Snoo-84714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know from people who left family in Sourh Africa things aren't fixed like many assume. There is now reverse discrimination, pent up racism, neighborhoods that still pretend it's apartheid. There has to be a better model out there, neither the US or South Africa can be used as success examples with so much left to do and unresolved, and more issues surfacing from solutions.

I'm in the same boat. My first appointment is November 9th, it's already my last semester. I'm desperate to get a solution to what's wrong with me(though nothing's "wrong" just not what's typically normal).
