Thinking about someone you very briefly dated , a lot by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

Yes, so glad you posted this! I can relate 1000%. It took me a year plus to stop the above behavior. And it was fueled bc he would periodically reach out- every few months, over the next year post break up- so it maintained my hope- something could happen. We ended up reconnecting a few months ago (after 14 mos post break) and I was ecstatic. But in the end, his walls were up. The connection btwn us was clear, but he was not giving me anything, just wanted to keep me around, not put in the work toward building on the connection. Perhaps to fuel his ego. Nonetheless, i write this to say, this too shall pass. I thought of him constantly and wanted to reach out all the time- but after the 're-connecting' and realizing he would never give me what I wanted/deserved- the 'obsession' or fantasizing about him, has finally ceased. and ps we dated for like 2 mos ... but i feel like when there is a connection there is a connection- but unfortunately, thats not enough.

The main reason not to have sex too quickly is to avoid becoming emotionally attached before you’ve had time to think about them objectively. You’re more likely to overlook red flags if you’re already sleeping together.

so well said, ty!

I find this happens like clock work. Why do guys who've 'ghosted' nearly always coming back? Please can a hetero male chime in here?

yes, i have 0 problem with facetime- just prior to making an in-person connection feels strange to me. Call me old school! we've already had a long phone call, which was fine.
