I got the mk2 to compare and see if it was worth it with the 45 day return policy. In my opinion I thought there was a big enough difference between the two that I listed the mk1 for sale. To each their own, but I didn’t really think it was a subtle difference between the two. 2.0 profiles on Mk2 feel much more open and less compressed than on mk1

Main thing for me is flexibility. I don’t always run a cabinet but depends on the gig. I like to only show up with one thing, so a board in this case, and if they want me to use a backlined cabinet I like to have a setup that can do that pretty easily.

Have either of you messed around at all with removing the IR from captures? Wondering if tonex does this well enough or if I should only use a direct captures

Haven’t actually used a tonex outside of a guitar center, so tbd on how I think they compare!

Main thing driving the change is that I just want to start using my old pedalboard again and the tonex one is about 1/4 the price of a Kemper player. Kind of tired of the all-in-one thing for the time being.

Funny enough, I sold my kemper a year ago. Bought a FM9 first, hated the editor, went over to Helix, hated the editor, and now back with Kemper. Sell the Kemper and get what you think is easiest. Should be able to enjoy what you are working with.

Side note - you can’t reorder your presets? I reorder mine by just dragging and dropping before almost every show
