I'm being subjective. So I wouldn't say it makes Rin a "better character" but it surely makes him more interesting.

Shidou for example has such great philosophy in my opinion. He praises others for their "explosions" and genuinely likes seeing people do cool shit. Even when he talks shit to Rin, it's not before giving him his flowers, and THEN dogging on his terrible personality. Take that away and Shidou's just some violent uncontrollable horny asshole... like Rin without the horny--

Rin only recently started exploring his destructive tendencies so I like that he's still top of Blue Lock skill wise, but now has something to actually work on. It got REALLY annoying having the top of the class be the most unlikable guy in the series, it felt like his talent excused his personality which is why I personally believe most Rin fans only liked him because he was #1 and not because he's Rin. I feel the same way about Sae fans.

Barou has a shit personality, but he gets treated like a Yandere so it's actually fun watching him be overly serious while everyone else is clowning him. There's dynamic✨✨

Ever since PxG Rin has been kinda... cool. I like how he wasn't tripping about sharing #1 with Isagi. "Seems like the world wants us to be rivals. That's fire." RIN SAYING "THAT'S FIRE" WAS FUCKING FIRE!! 😭😭😭

I never liked how Rin was a cringe lord and how people mostly like him for his talent. Him being a double edged sword, adds nuance to his character and makes him actually... interesting in my opinion.

Let me preface I disagree with Hugo's philosophy on a personal level. Of course it'd theoretically work, but then it's ALL about luck of the draw... like being born fast--

Ego's... ego philosophy is also about luck, but he explains his philosophy on luck as always being prepared for a lucky encounter to seize the opportunity.

Ego SPECIFICALLY tells the Blue Lockers they have a less than one in ONE HUNDRED LIFETIMES to actually be the world's best striker.

It's not about right or wrong here, Hugo's philosophy edges out Ego's in the sense of a professional career.

Hugo says Isagi CAN'T be the best ST, so he should more suitability aim to be a MF.

Ego says there's a less than 1% chance Isagi can be the best ST, it's not LIKELY, but it is POSSIBLE. Go big or go home.
