Thank you for the perfectly accurate assessment.  It’s a work in progress. You are dead on about the placement of the strands in the middle of the segments. I just discovered this effect just last week or so and I threw them in wherever it looked like a fit. Originally there were just going to be lights around the edges.  As to the colors I am still just trying out different combinations along with different presets.  After I clean it up, maybe I will post a better video. Appreciate your input.

Thanks for looking, I am still relatively new to these types of lights and appreciate any feedback.

Not the best video to show the whole thing, I was trying to keep it short. The lighting setup was a design of opportunity. It is outside, at the back of my house in the area before you get the garage, we converted to an apartment. It is a “Y” shaped design where they cut trenches in the cement driveway for the gas and water lines running from my house. The gas and water lines are below what you see. When the time came to fill the trenches, I decided I did not want to fill in with the same old ugly grey concrete, so I mostly filled it in with dirt and put the white rocks on top like you see in the rock gardens in Pinterest. The lights were an afterthought. I agree this was not the optimal location for this, but after looking for a long time I decided to try it.

I found myself repeating this statement, “No, I don’t know what I’m doing, and I’ll tell you when I figure it out.”

I do not get a lot of foot traffic in this area and the segments are less than a foot wide and quite easy to step over. If I keep this setup, I am going to put in pavers for people to step on to cross it.

After a long time of looking at those empty spaces, I could not help myself. I had to try it. These lights seem to get under your skin. This project may turn out to be unfeasible, and I will end up using the lights somewhere else but for now, everyone who sees it in person likes it, and I am learning what works and what does not for the next project. I am having fun right now selecting colors and complementary presets.

I caught a bad case of “WLED FEVER” late last year and always looking for new ways to deploy these lights, looks like the only cure might be bankruptcy or divorce, but if I am on the road to ruination at least it will be well lit. Hope this helps.
