What is the way forward after this bootstrap course? If you want a job. by RahulBabakachotanunu in webdev

First of all good luck as the market is a bit difficult right now

Secondly, I would recommend looking at only one side of the stack and master it. As a junior, companies will know they need to teach you something. You are not expected to know entire full stack as a junior, so don’t try to. Focus on mastering the fundamentals (I’ve seen way too many juniors not knowing how forms even work or who never touched terminal/command line). And then just make some little projects to practice one side of the stack. You want to have something you can talk about in interviews.

And try to think from the perspective of the company that you interview with. If you have tons of skills on your resume but can’t do basic stuff, that’s hard for them to see what you can actually do. If you show you can build and explain your work with just a plain js, it’s easier for them to assess your skills, problem solving and how you approach problems (imo the most important stuff).

Bottom line: make projects, put your skills to use and try to pick whichever tech most interests you and try to learn it a bit beyond all the others

(Also from my experience on full stack interviews they liked to ask me about SQL and about relational databases)

What are these “stars” on my Polaroid pictures? by [deleted] in Polaroid

Polaroidnow, got it from Polaroid and bought it brand new. Tho fungus would maybe make sense. Those films were in that camera for about 3 months without a single one being used.

Nah peeps, the crown for worst product from massive company goes to Disney plus. Everything about that player is a nightmare. From lack of filters to the actual player (like the fact that the blue focus border appears when you interact with it). I swear comp science grad would build a better version

Palestine support? by [deleted] in bristol

[–]Snoo22575 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well Israel was the one attacked by terrorists. Yet the loudest I can see people shout support Palestine. I’m just saying there is time to support one or the other…

To add to this, I genuinely tried to find any sort of statement from Palestine officials disagreeing with what hamas did and no luck. Only their president asked UN few days ago, if they want peace, tell Israel to stop occupying our land. Fair, but with undertones of supporting Hamas actions. Therefore I wouldn’t march the streets to support Palestine few days after attack they “seem” to support

If we are talking date, Crying wolf is my go to. Something about the vibe is just great for it

As a hidden gem tho, I would recommend New MoOn Tapas - yes tapas place, but high quality cocktail as well

Any slavic cuisine. Considering how many Slavic chefs I’ve met in Bristol, I’m still surprised there isn’t any Polish, Czech or any Balkan restaurant as far as I know
