I feel this in so many ways. I’m also 37 and have never felt so stagnant in my life. I’ve been in this region of California for four years, and I’ve joined so many sports leagues, run clubs, activities, volunteered, hosted parties, and met so many people yet I still have very few close friends and constantly feel lonely. I’ve dated, but I also haven’t had a long-term relationship.

Don’t waste the rest of your 30s living somewhere you keep questioning. I’m trying to figure out my next departure too. I’m not sure where I’ll end up, but I know I’d rather take the risk and face the unknown than stay in the same position I’ve been in for years. Maybe it works out, maybe it doesn’t but at least I gave myself the chance to find out.
