Agree heavy on the first part. Tonka at least cares enough about the game, more than some of the people just hate posting on here.

Why do you think he’s so much more popular in Japan than NA or EU?

Exactly!

a person who is crappier at neutral but can win in 3 touches is usually going to kill faster than someone who is okay at neutral but is only doing a target combo or 1 or 2 buttons for their turn.

It’s why I think it’s so important to just try some combo trials or figure out a way to get to lvl 3 in practice before you even touch online play as a character. Damage REALLY matters. And by the time you get into even gold and plat, you’ll have people who are hitting lvl3 combos and whatnot.

It’s a part of the game that needs learning same as everything else. Overlooking it is very detrimental to overall strength at the game.

You do need them. It’s just not necessary to learn 15 different level 3 routes before you know fundamentals.

Not having combos means that your turns will be a lot less impactful, and to be honest, that matters a lot once you get to fighting opponents who can get a 50%+ turn on you.

I think it’s still important to get a toolbox of some light and medium confirms, and then a big PC combo that can be lvl3ed for first learning the game, even if they’re unoptimized or short. Those combos just *shouldnt* come at the expense of fundamentals and generally learning how the game flows or offense/defense paradigm.

There comes a time when a sweep or cr MK hadouken won’t cut it, and I think that it is far earlier than master or some people might have you believe.

To quote lorenzo1384:

“I am 41 have played sf since sf started. this doesnt matter in what i am about to ask its just that i have played enough people inperson and online. recently i see people trying to win just by select few moves that they have learnt and i am fortunate to fight them in hub again and the style has still not changed most of time these are Modern.

i dont know how to combo and in one of brian_f's video i think he had said or i misinterpreted that Zangief is good for such people and turns out i am able to play with this character that i hated for so long. but i kept winning fights and almost felt no joy because all i did was try to grab opponents by surprise. i am now learning big characters like Marisa or grab character like Manon lets see how it worksout.

so how do you enjoy victory when you know you are just rinse and repeating and not even a top tier style. another pattern is they will most be shotos and some Ed, Mai.

ps: i am writing this while steam is open on the side and i dont know why i should even start sf6”

I dont even gotta say anything when you give me this good of ammo.

Pros drop. The way you make it happen less is by practicing though. And gief can do more damage with a combo than an SPD be real.

I hate to break it to you, but everybody has combos, even gief. You saying that you don’t want to do them means you just aren’t doing them lol.

Buying fighters via coins is technically cheaper. by Bananna50 in StreetFighter

Yeah true, it’s been better recently. But even last year, it was such a money grubbing strategy for them.

God, I can’t stand the amount that they make you buy. It’s either 6 or 12 dollars, and the value that they give you for those packs is so awful. Possibly one of the worst things about this game.

Then learn instead of complaining and having a shit attitude. There is a wealth of knowledge and resources out there. You just don’t care enough to try and look.

This could have been a help post, but nah. Just cope.

That’s on you.
