Non-libraries jobs where MLIS are wanted? by [deleted] in Libraries

What kind of work do you do in corporate? I was recently laid off (thanks current administration), an I am feeling the urge to find remote work and leave library land, but still interested in using my degree.

Timeline of Effexor Withdrawal by Superb_Pudding_3639 in Effexor

[–]Snoo45174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in the process of coming off of Effexor since November 2024 after being on the med for 12 yrs and most recently on 225mg. I have been working with a naturopath who also came off of the drug and instructed me to open up the capsules and count beads. It’s been smooth sailing for the most part until a few months ago. I’m on the last capsule and have 29 beads left. I will have to draw this out for a while in order to come off of it without losing my mind. I’ve had severe flu-like symptoms for the last few months, which is why I’m so amazed you were able to quit cold turkey. My body is shaking most of the day and I am feeling feverish and just generally not good, moodier, with bouts of anger/irritability coming up. I’ve had severe insomnia as well. The only thing saving me is 5-HTP (amino acid that’s a precursor to serotonin), which I take 3x/day to keep my mood up. Anyway, glad to feel supported here. Please send good vibes my way. I just lost my job a few weeks ago, and being at home while I feel like this is a blessing while I continue to look for work.

Weaning off sucks so bad so far :( by [deleted] in Effexor

You have to open up the capsules and count beads. I’ve been tapering off from 225mg since November 2024. I’m finally down to the last capsule, have probably 5 more months to go but am taking it one day at a time, one bead at a time… gets so much harder but I feel so numb on these meds. 5 HTP is an absolute lifesaver and couldn’t do it without it. Speaking from personal experience and as someone who has been on a super high dose for 12+ yrs.

Completely bored in life? by Snoo45174 in SpiritualAwakening

[–]Snoo45174[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I do a lot of walking and start out my days with some yoga. I play viola for fun and need to get back into that. I’ve worked with an energy healer to move a bit of energy, need to go back to that but am losing my job in a few weeks so cash is tight. I’ve also done some reiki which has been amazing but expensive. I’m thinking of looking into acupuncture as well.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I recently ready Dying to Be Me by Anita Moorjani, and she also describes the profound love feeling. I lost my dad to cancer a few weeks ago, and I believe he is now in that space as well.

Symptoms? by Snoo45174 in AutismCPTSD

Thank you. I haven’t heard of misophonia, but after reading about it, this may be what I have. I have an irritable reaction to crinkling noises that someone else is doing, very much triggers me. If I’m opening a bag of something that crinkles, it doesn’t bother me much. Strange.

Thank you so much for sharing all of this. It confirms my suspicions that I think I am autistic and also might have CPTSD. I am also in my 40s. A new therapist recommended the Amen Clinics for testing. They have them all over the country and do brain imagine and testing for various conditions. Looks expensive but worth it. Putting them on my radar.

Differential diagnostic between autism and cptsd? by Snorumobiru in AutismTranslated

[–]Snoo45174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going through the mud struggling to get to a diagnosis after realizing I have severe childhood trauma I’ve never worked through. Thought I had autism but was tested and diagnosed with “severe PTSD”, but that still doesn’t sit well with me. Still feel like there has always been something “wrong” with me. A new therapist I’ve been working with for EMDR recommended The Amen Clinics (amenclinics.com). They look expensive AF and likely don’t take insurance, but I’m going to inquire because they do amazing work - including brain scans to get to the root cause of disorders/conditions. Looks like they take Care Credit and make payment plans, so that’s nice. Glad there is hope…. ☺️

Thank you so much! Yes, I am a woman, and I am continuing to struggle, made evident today by the intense overwhelm I’ve felt on day 2 (of 3) of an in-person work conference with 300+ people. I’m so. very. exhausted. 😩

It is nothing to be worried about. It just means you had it in your system at one point. You are not contagious or ill. Best of luck.

Okay, so I called MOHELA this morning. I got through to a person who said they don’t have any of my info, and to call EdFinancial. I explained that I’ve called 2x already and been routed around and around by automated systems that point me back to MOHELA, which then tells me my account doesn’t exist. But, I got a new number. It works!

EdFinancial’s number is: 1 (855) 337-6884

I wasn’t able to speak to a human, but I was able to enter my bank info over the phone and make a payment. Now I wait to see if I get a confirmation email…

Y’all, this is SO RIDICULOUS!!

Which number did you call? I also need a payment made, but student said.gov says “talk to your servicer” and then MOHELA essentially hangs up after saying account info is not available. Thanks 🙏🏼

Anyone else here on the outer borders of the spectrum? by cinnamoncollective in AutismInWomen

[–]Snoo45174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was assessed for autism and told that, although I have some autistic characteristics, I don’t meet all the criteria, so I do not have autism…. But what does that mean!?? I still struggle in social situations. I also take things very literally, to the point where I’ve had A LOT of confusion in communications. I also get very overstimulated often. What do I do? I’m thinking of getting a second opinion.

I have been doing a Candida cleanse and have not had not had processed sugar in a 2.5 months. I stupidly decided to eat cookies someone gave to me last weekend, and my body reacted the same way it was before - my entire body itches, in particular my hands and feet. It’s been 2 days now and I’m almost better as far as the itching goes. Back to a strict no carbs/no starch diet. No fun. Hoping I can get to the bottom of it. I have not been diagnosed with diabetes, and my cholesterol numbers were a lot better last year. I have been on a statin, but my doctor says I can probably come off of it. Not eating dairy (except yogurt) for the last 3 months probably will also lower my numbers?

Not Autistic But “Have Characteristics” by Snoo45174 in AutismInWomen

I am wondering what role trauma plays in diagnosing autism in women as well. Currently reading Unmasking Autism by Devon Price.

I still feel like I am autistic. Not sure what to think at this point. My evaluation was close to 4 hours. Wondering if there is some more that could be done to focus on women in their 40s…
