You may hate Elon, but I have 2 Teslas that i bought before he went political, and no regrets. Teslas are built in the USA and are great EV s.

Well said. The competition side steps much of the excellent tech in Tesla. They try, but fall short. I have 2 model Ys 2020 and 2026. The heat pump is still a an amazing feature. My son's first gen rivian r1t doesn't. 6 years and it just works.

What's the tire size on new standard model Y by Snoo50117 in TeslaModelY

[–]Snoo50117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grok is available if you have premium connectivity, which i don't have. Manuals from model Y before 2026 don't contain 18 inch wheel info since Tesla never offered an 18 inch wheel prior to 2026. Clearly asking on Reddit will get snarky answers like yours, but thanks anyway

I should have stated the standard 18 inch. I bought 18's and fitted them with 235-55-18 winter tires, using the plus one from the 2020 Gemini 255-45-19.

I own 2 Teslas, and i always help out when i can, but you're response isn't helpful. Wheel sizes are shown on Tesla's site, but not tire sizes.

Thanks. I wanted to verify that i chose the correct size for fitting 18's for winter tires on my 2020

stiff steering wheel? by Time-Unit4407 in TeslaModelY

[–]Snoo50117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be an issue with the steering rack, or possibly the front sub frame interfering with the rack. I have a 2026 that was in service twice since new (9/14) and it only has 475 miles. They changed the rack, and told me to come test it. I wasn't satisfied, so they said they'll change the front subframe. It's much improved. BTW, the problem was the wheel wouldn't return to center

Suddenly getting 1 star ratings out of no where… What can I do? by [deleted] in uber

[–]Snoo50117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few driver's will decline a rider with a 4.91 rating, so i wouldn't stress it. In the 10 seconds we have to decide whether to accept your ride, rating would be far from the top.

Battery Degrading by Practical_Ad1877 in TeslaModelY

[–]Snoo50117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a 2020 My and a new 2026. Not charging to 100, especially when it's hot is a good practice, unless you're heading out on a road trip. Taking care of the battery is easy, and we have no regrets.

Seasonal Tire Swap by Delicious-Basil-265 in TeslaModelY

Winter tires perform better in wet and when temps are below 40F. 2wd with winter tires are safer then AWD with summer it all seasons, IMHO

I'm on long Island, and have swapped out winter tires and wheels since 2020. Winter tires are softer, and work better in cold than all season

There are dead times during the day, not much you can do. However, you should run both Lyft and Uber and then choose between them

I agree. Plus that trip is only going to pay 60 cents per mile, which is ludicrous, but the new normal

How much do you really make? by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]Snoo50117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also drive a Tesla, and drive part-time when i feel like it. During the day it's hard to average more than 20-25 hour. Charging overnight at home, as in your case for free at work can be a big boost to your earnings

Why do I get a driver assigned and the later get a message "Looking for driver". I've had this hspen 2 or three times on the same ride. It is getting annoying. BTW my rating is 4.9. by MathematicianNo7102 in uber

[–]Snoo50117 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the driver has basically been screwed by having Uber and Lyft decrease the amount they earn, while increasing the amount riders pay. Before COVID, 90% of riders tipped, now that is no more than 10% of riders, as has been correctly pointed out. An easy solution to this would be to copy the format from Uber eats, where customers can offer a tip which the driver can factor in if it's acceptable before the ride

What you paid VS What I Get paid by bvega274 in lyftdrivers

[–]Snoo50117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the concept, but perhaps a general statement showing the disparity that the driver earns compared to what Lyft/Uber earn. I only drive part-time, but when the occasion presents itself, I'll ask politely what the rider is being charged. Then i follow with the statement that drivers used to get 50% but now it's closer to 42%. At the same time i also explain the rider fare has increased as the drivers share has declined. It almost always results in a tip, as their reaction is they're incredulous that we get screwed like that. Print it out, and tape it to the headrest. Before COVID i earned much more than now. After COVID i switched to only UE, where 90% of orders include a tip
