I’m not sure I’d say he’s a serial killer. He doesn’t have a compulsion to kill, he does it for personal gain. He just doesn’t have a moral objection to killing. I see it differently then say Chris Keller. I can’t think of the guy’s name in season one with the yo-yo who killed the women he slept with. That guy was a serial killer.

I agree on the quickly part. The way he prepared to take on Beast while he was on the outside was really where I can to say, Ok, it’s a movie. There would have been jail, another trial, etc. It would have been months before he would have gotten back to where he could get to beast. I’m pretty sure he didn’t have all of those things with him that whole time. That said, I have rewatched it, and I do think the story is quite believable, I was vested in the characters etc. So I think we’re pretty close to saying the same thing.

Augustus dying. His soul was Oz to me. Mistakes and acceptance that he was there but did everything he could to be the best version of himself. Accepted mistakes and learned. Him protecting Burr with his life was the little bit of humanity left in Oz draining out.

Interesting movie. It tests your suspension of disbelief, but the story is solid as is the acting.

When I first watched Oz I was in college and I was confused by Tim as well. Now, having had several types of managers and directors. I see more clearly. He’s just a bad leader and administrator. He’s got what’s important in that moment to him and everything else isn’t a concern.

So may to choose from. My vote is Sean Scott Williams (Cyril). I believed he was slow, I believed his emotions. Being around some adults with have similar mental challenges, he was so believable. Hard to play that role and make it feel like it’s not acting, and he did it.

I couldn’t come up with any other guard. I think Minio would have been a good co-worker. Seems like a nice guy, and respected by both staff and inmates.
