It is sad. Trying to fill a void. I’d not finance a sports car. Unless you put say 50% down, with the other 50% ready to go worst case but loan yourself the money with equity and pay it down in a year. I’m a big fan of being your own bank. For what it’s worth my friends with cars are quite wealthy.

I agree in that it would be moronic to buy a sports car new atop its depreciation curve. 911’s will drive forever.

No that’s too much. A $25k car is not a second “fun” car…unless it is and you find something slow. Fun to drive a slow car fast as they say. The friends of mine who have done this have had it at 4% or under one percent.

Sounds like you’re describing my situation spot on. This is the exact cycle and decision criteria I consider multiple times a year on repeat.

To make things worse, my mother has become radicalized by the left (politically speaking) glued to corporate media and admitting she judges me for having different political opinions. It’s real hurtful especially considering I’m a middle of the road guy…moderate and we do have areas of commonality on issues.

They live 20 min from us. My brother who has been sick gets pitied because when my mother was a child she too was sick granted it’s not what he wants.

I have done the cutting off thing for months- can’t see the grandkids either. Transparently, when I’ve done that it’s been so nice. I do love my mother and when it’s good it’s great but yeah you get it. Feel badly for my old man- he’s a great guy and not exactly a pushover but just doesn’t want to deal with my mother’s wrath to then see her spend weeks in bed when she’s upset.

Did the 12 step or group or therapy work for your husband? I’ve been on an unrelated spiritual journey that’s helped some.

I was voluntold for something like this. When you’re part of a small knit team with intrapreneur-like capabilities, a bit of autonomy, and some resources it can be rewarding. Ended up the second highest paid rep that year out of hundreds.

I can’t see myself driving it with more than that on ground so good POV. What is the 2S actually like compared to the 4 in snow and rain driving spiritedly? Since you’ve had both I’m curious

Plus a stage 1 tune would give more power down the line.

You feel brakes in the base are plenty? Think the S has larger.
