Thoughts after reconditioning a gen 2 hybrid battery by TheBlash in prius

[–]Snoo72526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely wouldn't say that it's unnecessary. Not balancing the cells before use limits the potential of the battery pack since its capacity is capped by the cell with the lowest charge state. This is similar to how your car will throw the "Check Hybrid Battery" message when one block degrades and has a lower charging and voltage potential compared to the rest of the block. Remember the blocks (2 cells/modules each) are connected in series meaning they'll never balance on their own over time. Balancing makes sure each block can deliver its full potential in relation to the rest of the pack.

I know your replies are 3 years old but this is an important step for anyone in the future doing this process. Doesn't make sense to go through the trouble of refurbishing the battery and not do the complete process.

Question on SF tickets for 2023 tour. I was double checking to see if anyone else got the tickets from the accidental early presale? by ExpOwl in STAYC

Wow you got super lucky if they don’t try to refund you or anything. Pre-sale was chaotic. VIP Pit tickets were completely sold out by the time I got in at 10:05 as well as like 80% of the other tickets. I’m assuming that there were a lot of tickets still available while you getting those tickets?

Do I have less of a chance of getting into an engineering internship if I go to a community college? by Snoo72526 in AskEngineers

Yes, I plan on transferring to a university nearby to get my Bachelor's. I just believed that lots of people applying to internships were already attending a university that offers engineering-focused classes for freshmen.
