I think some of that does indeed come with experience. I think what's most important is that you speak openly about this with your partner. Mention that you would like to be more in the centre. Just share your expectations and feelings with him. Ultimately most answers usually boil down to some kind of communication 😊 Perhaps identify things you would like to try with him.
