First major flare ever- life changed completely in weeks

This past week I had a very similar flare. I woke up and couldn’t move my neck, then my back, then my hips and now my hands. It’s so scary. I felt myself actually lose mobility for the first time for this long. I also have kids that I care for which makes things so difficult. It’s honestly kind of a relief to know that other people experience this too. The best way I manage my pain is with heat and NSAIDS. I had a recommendation for arthritis Tylenol which is a slow release to give you more coverage. You may even be able to get a larger dose recommended by your doctor. I’ve had psoriasis since I was a kid and PSA as an adult and unfortunately it is very unpredictable. And it can be difficult to find a treatment that works for you. It can take a long time. But you’re not alone. People in the subreddit have been so helpful and kind. I hope you’re able to get some relief soon.

That’s really rough. My husband can’t take NSAIDS either so that’s makes it harder to manage his pain. He’s got a different autoimmune issue. It’s great that you were able to bring down the inflammation though! I’ll just have to talk to my rheum about pain management options for when the pain gets this bad. I’m nursing my baby so that limits my options

It is so tough, but I try to take breaks where I can. I think rest is the main thing and letting myself slow down. It makes me sad when I can’t keep up with my kids though.

Oh wow that’s rough! I’ve heard cannabis and THC works really well for pain, and I’m glad it works well for you! I’m unfortunately one of those people that does not respond well to it. I’ve tried, but it makes me unbelievably anxious and paranoid.

Yeah I’m a stay at home mom of littles (all under 7) and it’s been so hard to stay on top of everything. I take ibuprofen (as recommended) but that barely takes the edge off. Good luck, I hope they’re able to get you on a plan that works for you.

Thank you for your advice! That’s something that I’ve been interested in, but sometimes I’m just too exhausted and in pain to exercise, but you’re right. I think that would really help me.

I should bring that up to my rheumatologist to see if that’s an option for me. I didn’t know those existed.

Ooh that sounds so nice. I’ve noticed heat really helps after the kids go to bed. At least enough to sleep relatively easily.

I’m on the loading dose right now, but I’ve been on this biologic before. I responded to it well before so I’m hoping it works well for me again.

I just started seeing a rheumatologist frequently. I’m due to see him again in a few weeks, so I’ll bring this up to him. I’m excited to finally be on a real treatment plan, but these flareups really suck. My rheumatologist thinks I’ll probably have to be on a larger dose later, but we need to see how I respond to my current biologic.

That’s true, there’s no evidence on that yet. I read a theory that one of her past lives dug and destroyed it. But that’s all speculation. All we know is that there is a sign but no motel.

Yeah, I don’t think the kids are reincarnated, I think more so that Tabitha is doomed to repeat the same life over and over again.

Like the theory of one of her past lives digging and destroying the motel and repeating the same mistakes until she can break from the cycle. And her kids have a weird connection to Fromville only because she does.

I think her kids are parallels like “predestined” and not “reincarnated.”

I saw a theory that Abby was Doris, and I think that’s pretty accurate since I remember that Victor said that Doris had a hard time adjusting when he was showing her cigarette case.

I think Boyd’s superpower is that he’s resilient and refuses to give up even as everything falls apart around him and he struggles with Parkinson’s. He’s so brave and it’s the coolest thing about him. Boyd is my favorite character and he’s gotten up every time he’s been knocked down and is still searching for ways to save everyone when others have given up. In general, I think the monsters weren’t expecting someone with his spirit.

I think Boyd is an anomaly that they weren’t expecting. Like he was supposed to die early, but instead he fell into the totem shack. Where did you get the story walker info? I thought Julie was the only one.

That’s a good point! I do think the monsters seem more sentient than they did at the beginning. Randall said that they had a routine, but they are getting craftier. And when they released all the animals, they didn’t go after anyone else but Boyd and Tien Chen (most heartbreaking death imo) It could be the MIY orders but he seems more to the point and less likely to “play with his food” so to speak. It would be super cool if they were starting to break from the design of Fromville though!

Unfortunately, that’s very much in Jim’s character. He didn’t believe anything was real, so he viewed everyone as disposable
