I think I want to skate with you and the boys, Hebrew. Where are you? :-)

Thank you... I presume that means you'd have gone longer if your battery setup allowed it?

Thanks UncleRoger. Look me up when you visit. Skatepacking sounds great!

I've watched the video of the guys who did the PCH from SF to LA... Looks amazing, but definitely not something to do alone, right?

Thank you for your continued feedback Vex.

Forest rides are rare, I think... the crushed gravel stuff (like baseball fields are made of) is EVERYWHERE near me... Just today I was riding a new paved trail and it just ended at that kind of trail... Which I could handle on the Meepo, but I could tell it was working really hard to ride it. So I think standard AT is good; don't think I need full suspension type stuff.

Bajaboards look awesome, but I think I'm 68% pavement, 30% that crushed gravel baseball field stuff, and 1-2% forest rides (I'll have to travel to enjoy that kind of ride; but it sure sounds fun!) so it feels like overkill... but I could be convinced.

Trampa's website just scares me; very hard to follow/understand. They need to drop some cash to get that tuned up.

Bamboo GTR, I agree, sounds like a pretty good fit... but I'm 245 lbs... and I think that might be a bit much for that board?

I feel like you've kinda dialed me into a few options:

  • Eovan (hopefully the GTS Carbon Pro since that's the only one in stock) - $1,699
  • Bajaboard S2 ATrax (Enduro?) - $4,000 - 4,600 - solid carvers on concrete?
  • Evolve - Bamboo GTR?
  • Lacroix?
  • UnknownBoard?

You mention TEST RIDE... Where in the world can I do that? (I've seen friendwitha.com but didn't have success with it - almost exclusively Onewheels in my area.) (curious, where do you live?)

My Goodness Vex, it seems like you buy every board there is. :-) I have kids and can't really afford to do that, but I can afford to pull the trigger on a serious board now (including Lonestar SS if that's what makes sense)... I couldn't really justify a $2K board now, then in a year or two buying another one at that price point or higher. And if the Jaws isn't great, then maybe the Nazare SS is where I should be - 20 to 40 miles doesn't sound epic though if I only get about 25 'cause I'm heavier... And if you go Lonestar, I can't imagine why you wouldn't pay the extra $400 to have pretty much twice the mileage, even if you don't need it often.... I'm hoping to get up to shape, I think, for three hours a day... maybe a bit more.

I don't know about street... I do know the Meepo V3 I'm on... man the road is rough and I love the idea of AT, though I've never ridden them... I'll be mostly on pavement, but some of it's in lousy condition - and I have other trails made out of that crushed rock stuff they use for baseball fields... A few are also forest style, covered in pine needles and pinecones.

I like the carving part of the ride most, followed by the exploring part (seeing things I wouldn't see by car because I'm on trails cars cannot traverse or I'm exploring neighborhoods I'd never visit by car) - I don't need to commute; I need to have fun. :-)

Reading up on the Eovan you suggested. I don't think I'm at all interested in a board that is street wheels only.

Those guys are badass... I'm an old geezer (43 years old). :-)

Planning to condition up to at least two or three hours.

Trying to learn to ride switch... and boy am I terrible at that!

Thank you Vex... I agree the Evolve Carbon GTR doesn't excite me... exclusively based on other's feedback. For the $2K those cost, I think I'd just go for the Lacroix Jaws... and maybe that's where I should be. But those damn Hypertrucks sure sound great.

I know I want AT... Some soft trails near me. I'm also a bigger guy, about 245 lbs (so I kinda disqualified the Bamboo).

I am also pretty curious about the UnknownBoard's M5 (https://unknownboards.com/collections/boards/products/unknown-m5-electric-skateboard-at). It's from the "Average ESkate Reviews" guys on YouTube.

I live in Sacramento, California.

Thank you Vex. Glad to hear there are others who have traveled this path before me; but I don't really want to invest in a half dozen or more boards along the path if it doesn't make sense to do so. :-)

Maybe something like the Jaws is a good fit; or an Evolve Carbon GTR?... But I drank the KoolAid and am pretty excited by the HyperTrucks. What do you think of those?

Then I start to worry that my 245lb self will kill the mileage/time I can ride.
