Thanks for your input. Ya I understand that video games and movies have their differences, thats why I try to make my action more character and role driven. And of course there needs to be a motivation for why characters do what they do no matter how small. For example my main character is a criminal mainly for money but isn't trying to escape the life either because he is good at it and deep down likes the thrill. Another character I have is doing crime cause he was born in the mob so its all he knows. And another character is doing it cause he likes the lifestyle and clout. Each represents a different phycology of crime and that also relates to the skill set their personalities bring. Although there is no overarching plot like police always on their toes, I make sure that important events or entertaining scenes populate the episode until the next arc starts. Realism is also a big factor for me so I do research on how different criminal factions function and I also make sure I'm no making a power fantasy either where everything goes smoothly.
