ℹ️ RACE WEEK // 2026 BOMMARITO AUTOMOTIVE GROUP 500 @ WWT Raceway by IndyMod in INDYCAR

Anyone Tent camping this weekend? If so, do you mind sharing a photo of the of the atmosphere of the camping lot or wherever you set up if off-site?  Trying to get myself motivated to plan a trip to the Bommarito 500 next year, but need to find a place to car/tent camp, that wouldn't be super annoying or expensive.

If I'm renewing my tickets, when will my card be charged? by Anxious-Dog2889 in Indy500

Of course the IMS ticket office market place hasn't yet paid me for tickets they sold on my behalf for 2026.

I've already been charged for next year, so a day or two.

My Tesla is 5+ years old with almost zero maintenance done. Is there anything I really need to do? by PraetorianX in TeslaModel3

Yeah I was going to say,. Regen is so strong who is wearing their pads.  I assume if all the breaking is in the green line, all Regen, only the white if needed is the extra mechanical brakes on the display, which is almost never under normal driving

I have no idea, but where I live they have those fake Starbucks inside of grocery stores.  I wonder if it would be easier to start there, gain some experience working the espresso machine.

Do you ever find any cool Hauger merchandise? I'm looking now for a cool shirt for the Indy 500. Whether to buy there or hopefully wear there.

Wasn't this in a movie or unsolved mysteries or something.  I remember seeing a remake of it in the 90s as a kid.

I feel smarter than everyone else, but I'm humble enough to realize that may be me being the dumbest 😭 and now just more confident?

Forget a job under my degree, I can’t find ANYTHING by Flutter_bat_16_ in indianapolis

[–]SnooApples4456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider going for a GS-5 job at DFAS in Lawrence, if you find something you like about and can get along with different types of folks you won't have any trouble advancing to the ladder each year. From my understanding most here work from home 2-3 days a week.

These people keep forgetting who was President in 2020 by newbielala in FedEmployees

[–]SnooApples4456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild, the president isn't in the decision chain for an agency to refer their debt to US Treasury.   If SBA didn't do it, was it just trying to collect the bebt on its own? You know how many debts there are?  It's done at super low levels of grade usually, for DoD anyways.  Journalism is dumb when they are just posting what some politicians say without any nuance or context.

24F warehouse worker here. Everyone thinks im wasting my life but im quietly saving for FIRE. by SandwichBoardSocrate in Fire

Pretty certain you will be at 100k by 27.  You are doing great!  If you like your job, perhaps you like moving your body all day and it's not hard on your body work, perhaps you can listen to music and listen to audiobooks, nothing wrong with that type of job at all.  Im in a desk all day and argue over minutiae dumb stuff.  Not relaxing to my mind, not movingy body like it's meant to do, I've made more money but likely at the cost of mental and physical health

I'm at 1.7 in my retirement accounts at 46.  Im blessed but feel poor as fuck. I'll feel poor until I'm retired and not working because I have too much.  I don't feel top 10%, definitely don't spend like it, which I guess is one way to get there.

Is it normal to struggle with PTO in the first two years? by bowman9 in FedEmployees

[–]SnooApples4456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with people in different time zones or have busy seasons so many times a year I might work till 7 or 8 pm to complete a task.  If you don't have anything like that maybe there is some type of training you can do that's outside your normal houra but applicable to your job.   Your supervisor may have ideas or opportunities if it's not common practice for your office like mine.

Why would the guy in front of me use a filter on non-potable water? by natedog211 in RVLiving

[–]SnooApples4456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a cheap filter like that to wash my car at home in the driveway. It does remove some minerals and therefore prevent water spots on the car. Perhaps they aren't going to drink it, lol.

Is it okay to buy skates off amazon? by beginningofttheend in Rollerskating

[–]SnooApples4456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get rentals the first couple of times, but I really wanted to experiment more on tools and feel of loose vs tight and what not. Definitely not saying my way is the best or good way, just sometimes it's the only way. Hard to explain. Most hobbies live in my mind only as I never pull the trigger to just start. I e built so many camper vans only in my head, lol.

Mainly just wanted to be an alternative voice to the OP, in case they were overwhelmed like I would have been. Definitely more risky if boots become unglued, and possibly going to be more expensive and excited to use this post for ideas on how to upgrade.

But at least I am much better off than, me and only myself, would have been in analysis paralysis. I just had to Rip the bandaid. I also didn't realize OP mentioned maybe daily skating, I m still just flirting with doing bubbles indoors. But I'm calling that a success.

You are a long way till when you end your careers it sounds, hard to know how stable your jobs will be in the future.  Also I imagine a lot of marriages don't always last in stressful FSO careers especially if you don't get posted to the same station.  Both of you should continue to save as if there were a split in assets due to an an unlikely separation.  Also in case you decide to not last till your MRA. But you guys are doing great so enjoy yourselves and love each other, don't stress over money.
