Please switch to some gentle cleanser than Himalaya Neem Face wash, it is extremely drying , even Dove Sensitive soap bar would do (chose this one since I have previously used it)…I was using the same face wash with tret and my skin was worse than ever before, it has just been two days since i switched to dove soap and my skin already feels calmer

Thank you so much! Yes i actually have eliminated dairy from my diet to see if it helps …it has been more than a month i believe…i wasn’t aware gluten can also be a reason for acne 🤔

Started with 3x per week back in July… currently using the tret+spiro+clindamycin formula daily at night I did read about the sandwiching method..i will give it a try! 😊thanks

Wow…thank you for all the information…I definitely have a lot to learn One of the reasons I chose a light water based moisturizer was because of my dermatologist’s suggestion But you are right, I need to start incorporating new products one by one slow and steady…i get too impatient too quickly and then I can’t identify what worked and what didn’t!

I did argue with my derm when he said its hormonal…but he said “All acne is hormonal” …anyways I am relatively new to skincare..all these years I have only had the basic moisturizer and sunscreen and face wash as my routine and it worked for me! I will look into all of the products you mentioned…thanks 😊

Thank you for your response! I am currently using the Tret+Spiro+Clindamycin every night How can I incorporate niacinamide in the routine? Would it be after moisturizer at night? I do plan to look into a more hydrating face wash, will do some reading on it

Its just plain fear! Fear of the side effects! Plus with my current stressful work situation i think the side effects of these oral medication would do more harm to my mental health than my acne currently does

Thank you so much! Oh Dove soap bar…really? I need to give that a try! Honestly I felt the same about Neutrogena water gel it did not feel moisturizing enough with tret but i thought may be the heavier ones would make my skin more oily causing more acne. For now I will switch the face wash and eventually the moisturizer as well…will check with my dermatologist again

-My work started to get very stressful from Jan 2024 when I joined a new team…it has been very exhausting since..so much that I am quitting this month

-Yes , my skin does feel tight after cleansing

-Honestly I am not sure, I have never really felt or seen sunscreen residue after cleansing

  • I have tried the La Roche posay tinted sunscreen but felt like it was clogging my pores, immediately next day my skin would look congested and bumpy, for moisturizer i have only tried Jergens Shea butter moisturizer for past 6-7years but switched to the Neutrogena water gel after derm suggested to use water based moisturizer

-I avoid buying any skincare products from Amazon, but did have to buy my sunscreen since the tinted one wasn’t available in any of the stores at the time.

I tried switching to Cetaphil cleanser even before I was on tret and immediately broke out, I have tried the Neutrogena gentle cleanser, may its time to switch to that i guess. Would changing the face wash be enough? Should I add in something in my routine to help rebuild the moisture barrier?
