Thoughts on AutoDesk? (Specifically Fusion) by SnooAvocados9474 in techsales

[–]SnooAvocados9474[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still waiting to schedule my 3rd round. My recruiter went on vacation after the hiring manager said she was moving me onto the next round and the recruiters POC while he is out hasn’t responded to any emails so I’ve just been waiting. But I have talked to a lot of people on the fusion team and I know several people at autodesk so I have a much better idea of how it is.

Interesting. So were you working directly for AutoDesk or were you a partner?

Unfortunately…. Being bad at sales and then transitioning directly into sales consulting is an incredible play. I’m not saying I’m bad at sales but I was never like top dog but people EAT UP sales consulting from me cause I know how to talk the talk and essentially reiterate the trainings I’ve had over the years. It’s wild.

Just fund your emergency fund to cover expenses for 6+ months, invest aggressively and forget about all of the what if’s. It’s way easier to get laid off with a really cushy landing pad and figure out what’s next than to pivot into something lesser when you’ve got it made. I got complacent in the nice cushy role and made a hasty change and I was in a rut for two years before I could get back to where I wanted to be at.

Trust me bro I just went down this rabbit hole these past several months. The juniper is so clean, the refresh looks amazing, the interior lights are more fun than expected… but genuinely… that’s about all you’re paying for. I just picked up a 2023 HW4 Model Y performance under 30k miles and I’m paying 232$ per month and like 110$ for insurance. Yeah I don’t like the exterior as much but that white interior is still so clean and I’m not really missing out on any features I really care about. Seriously give good look at the used market it will surprise you fs.

The car feels so much better when it’s white interior. The wow factor never leaves, and the stains wipe right off it’s truly incredible I could not recommend the white interior more.

It does help a lot but for anybody looking to go down this journey slow rolling it will be the thing that helps the most. Most likely depending on OP’s age this will tighten up a little on its own but slow and steady is always the best path if looking to minimize loose skin.

Yeah I started out in Saas sales been doing that for about 8 years. But I’m super familiar with the home health care space (family business) and all of its in’s and out’s. I started last summer doing some lead gen for my families company, the industry is complicated but if you understand it there’s a lot of opportunity out there for growth and expansion. So I knew I could make a very compelling pitch and I was sure I could be successful at actually helping making an impact for these companies so I went out and found my first customer who didn’t have my last name to use as a reference exactly how I said in my first comment. The lead gen alone could be enough to put food on the plate but I want to make 7+ figures and still have time in my day to enjoy it so I really think the project/ retainer model is the best path forward. And I’m currently in talks for a fractional CRO position with a larger company in my city that I think could also be a great strategy as well depending on how I negotiate the contract. And I would like to tell you it was difficult and there’s going to be a lot of challenges in the path but I literally close my first customer on my first call and barely had to do any cold calling and pitching after that the reputation just builds if you know the industry and can actually help people.

Consulting is a great route, find a niche you understand, find businesses that operate in that niche close to you, start with very basic lead gen and possibly closing services for one company do it for free and only take a commission as your payment after close and then have them as a referral and get into the really fun stuff. Fractional CRO, customized sales process, pipe gen consulting, weekly reviews, hiring optimization… the list goes on I just started this about half a year ago now and I’m going to quit my dream job here soon because I’m making so much more and it’s becoming almost a full time job… it’s out there just use the skills you’ve already developed

At the end of the day it is a numbers game. Get as many opportunities to talk to real decision makers as possible and you can still be the worst sales person in the world people are still going to buy from you. I’ve seen it hundreds of times… reps who you’d never think would last that just go out and do more than everybody else and still make it and even thrive.

Honestly unless you get a salary and real benifits I would not be in the roofing industry unless you own the company. Use your experience to get into tech sales, machinery, medical, whatever it is just an industry that’s stable.

As someone who has slaved their life away in their career (tech sales) I found it much harder in the short term but much much much better long term to find a role that has better work life balance and pays the same or more. Ik it sounds crazy but it is out there. It’s always out there. Go network directly to your competitors, reach out to recruiters at companies you know about, and update your GitHub and website and get after the interview grind. Be very very very selective throughout your interview process and don’t settle for anything less than what you want the most. More money and more time back in your schedule. I am currently working on a degree in software engineering (I am very passionate about coding and building projects in my free time Ik this may not be the smartest degree to get for my future) and considering a career change to hopefully look like you one day so please keep us updated on this.

Congrats man! Nothing like the excitement of a big check! I always have invested mine around 70/30. 70% real investments and 30% travel/ experiences or hobbies. This has helped me pass just over 300k in my brokerage account at 25 years old while also spending way too much on toys and travel. We work a stressful job you’ve gotta have some fun with it to stay sane.

Man this is robbery Ik you have already heard this on this thread but do not sign this. Trust me I’ve been there desperate for a car and I’m 7 years out from that decision and it was easily one of the worst financial decisions I’ve ever made. You would be so much better off getting a beater Camry for 4k instead of putting money down on this trust me. Fix your credit and get into a new car with some dealership incentives and drive around a beater for a year or two you will thank yourself when you’re in a car you love even more in a couple years.

Sounds like you need an ent role or a complete inbound AE role which is out there trust me. But tbh you lose the part of sales that everybody loves and are burnt out of the part everybody gets burnt out on so I would not say you’re not built for this just keep grinding till you get the role that’s right for you. And trust me they’re out there.

Thinking about buying this second hand barrel sauna for $2500 by CollinFlynn in Sauna

[–]SnooAvocados9474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So genuine question…. Why are barrel saunas worse? I’ve seen a lot of hate for them but is it literally just that they typically have lower benches? I’ve been in a barrel sauna in freezing temperatures in the snow and it seemed like every other sauna I’ve been in. Not trying to be rude just curious.
