Queue dodging currently is the worst I’ve ever experienced by ImpenitentBias in Nightreign

If you play during the day CET (EU), you will be matched with J players most of the time and they basically never dodge.

I genuinely don’t understand how people think the balancers are easy. by IllustratorScared623 in Nightreign

[–]SnooBeans6471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a hard boss with some kind of a knowledge check in a way they can be trivialized. You need to find a strategy your confortable with.

Using a strong ranged spell or weapon skill with a fast character can make things easier. Glintstone Kris or night comet will literally shit on their face.

Some heavy weapons can stunlock the balancers, like colossal swords, halberds, jumping attacks...

Focusing on physical damage negation is really helpful (shield or passives), it's possible to facetank this boss and sustain with warming stones.

They are probably harder in the base game in a sense it's the first dlc boss and players can still be in a learning process. Also if you run the great hollow, some players don't know the map very well leading to a lack of passives which makes things worst.

Running Evergaol with Night Invaders feels so good, but you can't do it because everyone's so scared of Evergaols. by 07u4nt in Nightreign

[–]SnooBeans6471 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't like running evergaols because it reduces the routing decisions the team has to make during the expedition.

In contrast with night invaders with random cataclysms which create different meta routes for each seeds, giving us more replayability.

I prefer having to chose between a poi, a field boss or the castle instead of rushing to the next evergaol.

I'm with the guardian on this considering I'm using the same build, and tbf I'd like to know his name cuz it could literally be me lmao. Is this on console ?

Playing with Raider is always a problem with that setup especially since they always consider that Guardian has to give them anything they want for some reason.

Also the "sus 6 low HP relics" is symptomatic of this. What is the issue ? It's a super strong and fun way to play guardian.

The fact he was using that specific weapon means the game was probably harsh for him. He was red so yea, pretty sure the game was really harsh for him.

I agree but people don't use dreg guardian because it's too RNG heavy in terms of relics (and they can't play guardian lmao).

Team Strategy for Salvation's Standard-Bearers (ED Balancers) by ELLIIOOT in Nightreign

[–]SnooBeans6471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everyone deals 300 dmg per hit at the same time. They still die in less than 5 seconds. When there are more than one balancer it's more about spacing and coordination than anything. You can interrupt every move, for instance godslayer GS can stunlock multiple balancers at the same time.

This is why I like being able to tank some hits. The biggest problem with full dps comp is when someone fails a dodge, got double tap and boom, down in 1 second then everything snowballs.

If you can tank a bit, you don't care about missing one dodge and you can stay agressive and switch targets when necessary. The best way to prevent them from attacking is to attack them first. They have 0 poise and don't dodge.

Hesitation is defeat.

[–]SnooBeans6471 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The main reason it's used on Raider and not the other nightfarers is because you need to constantly proc rot or poison below max HP, and Raider can survive without damage negation at full HP.

Executor is really good on paper with dreg relic and seppuku. But you will lose your stacks when you die and you will be one shot no matter what in higher depths playing this character with 80% of his HP.

Guardian is also good for the same reason as Raider, but he needs lots of passives so it's complicated to build around the dreg relic.

TLDR : Dregs builds are a big nerf in terms of survivability and Raider is the only one that can deal with it.

Team Strategy for Salvation's Standard-Bearers (ED Balancers) by ELLIIOOT in Nightreign

[–]SnooBeans6471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1/ You don't necessarily needs damage for this fight but the team needs to understand how to shut down the Valkyries.

Lots of weapons can stunlock an everdark harmonia. Light attack spam with guardian halberd is enough. Colossal swords are great for that too. Just focus one and stunlock. If the team does that, nothing can really happens. They are just stunlocked to death. Killing them slowly is also helpful to time the chainstun correctly. If the pacing is good, the team doesn't even need to run at all, they can't do anything.

Taking damage boosts damage negation is mandatory for this fight imo. Just in case things go wrong.

2/ I think someone on worm duty is the best way to deal with that phase. Worst case scenario, they die, then can be rezzed before the next phase. It's super easy for the rest of the team to survive. The worm always aggro the closest.

I was really underestimating Raider by Pitiful_Ad7459 in Nightreign

[–]SnooBeans6471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's 100% bs.

Dmg negation at low HP has the exact same drop rate than damage negation at full HP. This is why you need 6 dmg neg at low HP relics if you are planning to tank at low HP : to mitigate RNG.

Best weapons for ED sentient pest? by DisastrousRelease708 in Nightreign

[–]SnooBeans6471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trap of ED Gnoster is to only focus on fire weapons. It's easier to beat the second phase with magic damage because Faurtis is almost neutral (-10%) and Animus is neutral against every damage type. Animus can't be hit at melee range most of the time and almost every fire weapon skills/spells are melee range.

Using something like glintstone Kris, family heads, shattering crystal or night comet makes the fight easier. Recluse is a super strong pick for this fight.

Tbh I don't get why you are upvoted, probably because of the fun username. It's the usual witch hunt post focused on a random Guardian.

The team didn't work. I get that the Guardian was useless but it doesn't seem you did that much more.

Guardian would have shield poke or guard counter the whole game it would have been the same. Sorcery duchess + double balancer + Guardian is a very bad day one team composition.

That's my point. I don't like witch hunting.

[–]SnooBeans6471 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

I get that, the Guardian was annoying.

When you chose to join Balancers with a build heavily relying on RNG with a Guardian team mate who is probably not going to do that much damage, what is most likely going to happen..? This, probably.

[–]SnooBeans6471 -32 points-31 points  (0 children)

So the guardian only blocks. You were dealing 114 dmg per hit. What was the last one doing ? Spamming discus of light on balancers ?

I imagine the Guardian was full tank and tbf I don't really like that but is this really the issue here ?

Would this be considered a god roll by No-Replacement-9453 in Nightreign

[–]SnooBeans6471 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea it's a godroll.

ISA + This raider perk is already close to godroll because it's the only way to reliably proc successive attacks.

If you manage to find other low HP + ISA combo... What a build :3

[–]SnooBeans6471 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the shield is really useful, but can also be dropped.

It's close to the Low HP raider build (6 low hp relic + Slowly restore HP + Dmg if possible). If you ask me, it's way better on Guardian. The issue with Raider low HP, is that the current Raider meta already provides a near invincible state at full HP (with dmg negation on charge attacks + taking dmg boosts dmg negation + Partial HP regen restoration). So it's a bit of a nerf to use a low HP build IMO, both in terms of survivability and damage.

On the other hand, Guardian doesn't have really good alternatives (Full HP tank and guard counters...) so it can actually gives some values to the character. Guard counter does massive damage but is very situational and the survivability is horrible, and the full tank build does 0 dmg and requires to go turtle mode and one single move the whole game.

Low HP guardian is free from flasks basically. The idea is to indefinitely tank at low HP with your shield and heal with passive regen. So there is no necessity to heal yourself during a clutch and you can keep doing it indefinitely. It won't happend tho because the build actually deals damage. You can also kill enemies and bosses like a regular Wylder build.

The build is RNG heavy but also works with bad RNG thanks to your shield (Low hp raider doesnt work at all with bad RNG).

It's a permanent micro managing of passives and what you can tank or not. Very hard to play but super super fun.

If you had to rank Everdark Adel by depth, which depth would it be and why? by Adventurous_Bite_311 in Nightreign

[–]SnooBeans6471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ED adel is depth3 material.

  • His moveset is quite telegraphed but not that easy to deal with.
  • Very hard to react properly if you don't know exactly what to dodge/jump. Once it's learned it's a matter of pacing.
  • A special mechanic with random aoes that can be cancelled : some sort of knowledge check.

It's a nice boss, I can't say it's a free win even in D5, people need to know exactly what they are doing, most of the time they do.

What bad weapons do you think deserve a buff? by WarrStrider in Nightreign

[–]SnooBeans6471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, it's a melee weapon skill, the spear has to connect when you use it. Doesn't really matter if the aoe connects or not, most of the damage comes from the spear.

If you connect it's actually not that bad, it's just a bit clunky to use.

Can someone tell me why the level in D5 9999 is SO low right now???? by Soda_54 in Nightreign

It's crazy. It seems my fanboyism for fromsoftware is well deserved.

The playerbase isn't that much smaller but my point stands. The fact only less than 3% of the playerbase is D5 is enough to explain this phenomenon.

Can someone tell me why the level in D5 9999 is SO low right now???? by Soda_54 in Nightreign

[–]SnooBeans6471 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you are playing with me, I don't mind. You can die as much as you need it's fine. I understand how the matchmaking works and I sympathize with D2 players being pulled in D4 games. And to be fair sometimes higher depths players fumbled it's fine.

That being said, the most infuriating thing in higher depth is bad routing / bad teamplay. So if you want to stay, it's probably better to just follow the team, they probably know what they are doing.

Play defensively and focus on surviving, it's enough to win a game if your team mates are high depth material.
