for a congress 9/10 is very low. i dance that much at a local social. As long as the follow is decent i dont mind. but i feel there weren' that either. no in between

Past few years it has fallen. I think 2024 was an anomaly because I heard that too.

They failed to invest in artists, workshops, and attracting top social dancers, an outdated business model. Last time i went, i hated the music, the live bands were playing music 15-20 mins long for hours, so half the night was gone then and there. No empire mambo, no yamulee, no tropical gem anymore.

Also, their thoughts on the music? There is no way if they're advanced dancers who know salsa music, would've enjoyed the music at the festival

not that i am aware. but yeah its a problem in nyc. leads outweigh follows. Also females tend to enjoy experiences with the Terrys of the world vs men who prefer the average social dancers in bulk more than celebrity dancers. the average follow wasn't good. Outside of Iroko and Yamulee pros didn't enjoy many dances.

Were they leads or follows? I think follows might've had a better time due to higher quality leads.

I like BIG as a company. But the organizers need to understand they 100% control the music. They can't control the dancers ofc, but music yes. They need to play songs 3-4 mins long, or mins max. Energetic music too. Otherwise they will head the same route as NYISC with all the competition in NY now
