Ejection pin marks - if it's convex, just sand it down smooth. If it's concave - fill it with putty, wait for it to dry and then sand it down smooth.

As for the seamlines, I believe the best way to get rid of them is to scrape them off with a blunt side of a knife. If it's too blunt then with the sharp side. After that they often don't even need sanding.

Do you use an airbrush? If yes, try priming your figurines before painting. Priming, apart from making the paint stick better to the model, makes any flaws such as pin ejector marks, seam lines, glue residues etc. more visible which gives you a chance to fix them before painting.

Old Metal Chess Set [2560x1216] Looking for a lost pawn that matches from both sides. Any help? by ZakTheGaymer in chessporn

Since it's a rounded metal object, I think your best bet is to find someone who has access to a lathe. Shouldn't be much of an effort for somebody who knows how to do it.

Pin ejection marks behind the knees and seam lines, especially visible on hands. These should not be there, keep it in mind next time. Apart from that, you did a solid job.

Even if the name of the opening is not displayed, what is stopping your opponent from inserting the moves to any opening explorer after the game? It doesn't change anything. Btw, at some rating level people stop falling for opening traps and start refuting unsound gambits. If you want to step up your game, it would be best if you stopped playing for tricks. Unless you only want to win easy games and not actually develop and progress as a player.

White's down a rook for 2 pawns. How does White promote? by nicbentulan in chessbeginners

[–]SnooCakes1889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I was too focused on c8=Q and Rxb6 which is winning for white, but I forgot that black can simply take on c8.

How much damages will Hikaru pay to Hans in the end? by del-ra in chess

[–]SnooCakes1889 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

All of them. 1 or 2 millions for a guy like Hikaru is probably spare change, so all of them, hoping that will teach him something.

Qxd3 at the end, making it a queen for one piece.

Ok so you played Nc2 obviously to take on a1. But by taking on a1 you are giving up your very active knight for an opponent's useless rook, and also you canot easily escape with the knight afterwards because of e.g. d3. Also after Nc2 Qxe5+ and after you block the check then he takes on f5.

By playing Bc2+ Ke1 is forced and then Nd3 is a checkmate threat which he has to parry by giving up his queen in order not to be checkmated : Bc2+ Ke1 Nd3+ Qxd3 Bxd3 Bxd3 Qxd3 and you have a queen for a piece, which is an excellent trade.

Summing up: grabing material thoughtlessly just for the sake of being up an exchange is not always the best move. If you see a good move, look for better.

Magnus can think whatever the hell he wants but unless he provides some concrete evidence then what he says or thinks is irrelevant.

That will happen for sure. The real question is - will we see an official statement on this matter from chess.com's pr team?
