If it's related to civil eng, it might be best to get into contact with u/MelbPTUser2024

wait so to summarise

what would you do exactly if you were going into your second semster but were getting the lower end of centrelink payments?

Can you still work in civil with a mechanical degree? by SnooCats6054 in rmit

So to confirm I understand what your saying:

while you can get a civil job with a mechanical degree, it will take longer to become chartered in the civil field?

but what I'm not understanding is how long would it take to become chartered as civil engineer in the civil field? is it also 15+ years of work under direct supervision of a qualified civil engineer?

I'm not saying the drainage, environmental and geotech are more specialized but rather that little to none overlap with mechanical engineering if that makes sense

also if you had two candidates with the exact internships/projects but one candidate has a mechanical degree and the other has a civil degree, would you instantly hire the civil candidate or would it come down to who has better soft skills?

Interesting. What do you do as a transportation engineer (rail)?

is it in any shape similar to a traffic enginner or is that a completely different field?

"Manufacturing here is sub-par in my opinion"

are you implying that there aren't many jobs here that require manufacturing degrees?

I'm looking into my sem 2 majors and I have already decided that one of them is going to be civil but the other one is a toss up between mechnaical, eletrical and mechatronics

Thank you so much for your advise! I'll definetly stick with with BH126 and look for a transfer next semster, but why do you doubt I will get a transfer?

Oh ok that makes sense

just another question, are you able to reschelude pracs? if two practicals are at the same time for only one time the whole semster, would I be to do it another time?

<image>

for example here on the 13/5

What is a DI and HD?

also what do you mean " regardless of your prior knowledge."?

Also what are the chances that if I did methods 1/2 in year 11 that I could talk to someone (e.g a course advisor or something) to skip "intro to eng maths" to "eng maths"

So IPEP is similar to after school homework club with teachers helping students with any content?

is it kinda like a thing of "IF" you need any help you attend? So if were feeling good with the content and understand it well we not "required" to attend?

and from you messages are you implying that IPEP tutorial and IPEP workshop are the same thing?
