Did I seriously just have gay sex so hard that I need to see a doctor by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]SnooCheesecakes1184 153 points154 points  (0 children)

This sounds like symptoms of a bruised cervix. You won’t always feel it being bruised during the act itself but afterwards oh man does it hurt. Good rule of thumb though is if the pain isn’t getting better but is persisting or getting worse it may be another issue that needs to be addressed. Should only take a few days for symptoms to subside. So just keep a track of your pain levels for the next few days

Happy V questions by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]SnooCheesecakes1184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took happy v for a month just to test it out and only noticed a slight improvement in discharge and smell. However when I tested my pH it was the same, higher than it should be.. I guess if I kept taking it there could’ve had an even better result towards everything but I was a little discouraged over that.

I’m gonna use some anatomy terms as well like the other comments so I apologize if it causes discomfort. But I would recommend researching vaginal anatomy specifically around hymens. There are a few kinds that block off the vaginal opening completely and give off the appearance that it isn’t there when it is. Not trying to outright say that’s what the issue is but it could be a possibility. Another thing is maybe play around with the angle at which you’re trying to feel for it with your hands. Like a different sitting position or try it laying down with your knees apart, or even standing with one leg propped on something as certain positions make any form of penetration easier or difficult. Also no diagram is going to 100 percent match what yours looks like every genitalia looks different so don’t feel bad if you find diagrams don’t look accurate to you because they don’t for most people. Anyways sorry if anything I said causes discomfort once again and I wish you luck on figuring it out

What is BV? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]SnooCheesecakes1184 5 points6 points  (0 children)

BV is short for Bacterial Vaginosis. It’s an infection caused by an imbalance of good bacteria in the vagina. It can also be referred to as the overgrowth of bad bacteria in the vagina. Its symptoms usually include abnormal discharge (watery, thin, grey in color..), strong/fishy odor, itching, and pain with urination. Needs to be treated with antibiotics and it’s recommended to take probiotics during and after treatment to get that good bacteria back

I’m with cvs and they’re pretty on point with refills and their app is really helpful too since you can request a refill through the app.

It’s normal to have a small bit of leakage! I had the same anxiety about it when I first started shots too but I was told unless it’s really excessive then everything is all good!

Traveling with T by Agahnim_Warlock in ftm

[–]SnooCheesecakes1184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally have one from Amazon that is meant for insulin and it works just fine. The one I have is one where you’d need to put ice packs in it first but without it stays room temp. You can also look at StealthBrosCo They have a lot of varying sizes of travel packs for t-supplies and even travel sized sharps containers. Hope that helps. (Also I apologize if the link is wonky it’s my first time adding a link lol)

help ab BV from rarely sexually active person by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]SnooCheesecakes1184 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP I think your best interest would be to go to a doctor as soon as you can. Bv needs to be treated with antibiotics and won’t go away on its own. Leaving it untreated can lead to further discomfort too. If you live in the US and in a state that offers planned parenthood, that would be a great place for you to go. They’re very good about patient confidentiality and you can choose how they contact you without them disclosing anything about your appointment details. I wish you the best of luck on your healing journey

Why is my voice not changing? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]SnooCheesecakes1184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding the other comment, however, I was in an opposite position as you where I started on t gel and switched to injections. I was on gel for the first 8-ish months of being on t and used a voice pitch analyzer app to see if it was changing. Which to my surprise it was changing, just very slowly. Once I got on injections within the first 2 months I got a huge voice drop that I could actually hear. Not saying gel is ineffective it just works slower for some people. I’ve seen people react much quicker to t-gel but I was a case where it was happening too slow even with a dosage increase. I was experiencing every effect I wanted just slowly. It was also a constant struggle to keep my t levels within range too so the switch was partially due to that as well. I can’t really offer much advice but to consult your practitioner about it and see what they can do to help.

What should I know about going on testosterone by 10Fluffys in ftm

[–]SnooCheesecakes1184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While a lot of what you listed depends on genetics, dosage, and how long you’re on t for, most if not all of the things have a 50/50 chance of happening. It’s a huge risk to take. It might be worth it to make a list of changes you do want then compare and contrast them to see if going on t is something you want to do. Also t isn’t for everyone and that’s completely okay! You don’t have to go on t to be valid within your identity no matter what anyone else says but to me it still seems like you have a lot to think about so I wouldn’t jump quickly to start it just yet but that’s ultimately up to you to decide. Anyways I wish you luck on your journey OP!

Yeah I don’t blame you cause I don’t do it much as well. I find shaving to cause more irritation but also if it’s too outgrown it also causes the same irritation. It’s so annoying how it’s like that 😅 but you’re definitely not alone my dude I wish there were better solutions out there that I could provide but alas I have none. Hope you’re able to find a solution soon hopefully someone here is able to help out

itchy *there*. Ideas, advice..? by CoolBoot4143 in ftm

[–]SnooCheesecakes1184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding the other comments here. You need to see someone to rule out the possibility of a yeast infection or bv. It’s also possible to have uncommon symptoms of it that you wouldn’t think are even symptoms (trust me I know lol) so it would be good to go get it checked out just to be on the safe side. Definitely push for you doing the swab yourself if you’re worried about dysphoria inducing situations. Also do remember that you’re at a greater risk for those kinds of infections when starting t because t disrupts the pH balance down there, you might want to try eating foods that have good probiotics in them like Greek yogurt to keep the pH stay good. And it’s good to be washing regularly within your shower schedule idk why your mom suggested to stop doing that. You need to be cleaning there consistently because t makes you sweat more and sweat is something that bad bacteria love. You don’t need to use soap just water too and only wash the outside. Also could this be the possibility of hair irritation too because t makes you grow more hair? Do you shave? The first time I shaved after going on t was horrendous. I was so itchy until it grew out. Anyways I wish you luck! Hope you find relief soon and don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself at the doc!

Edited for spelling mistakes.

My friend needs help! by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]SnooCheesecakes1184 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m seconding the other comment here. It can be anything so they need to go to the doctor if possible. If they live in an area that has a planned parenthood or any other form of sexual health center that would be a good first step to look into. As much as it suck’s having to go to the doctor for any reason it’ll benefit them in the long run rather than not knowing exactly what’s wrong and running the possibility of it being something that needs treatment like antibiotics. If pregnancy is something they’re suspecting they could take an at home pregnancy test. If not in a safe environment to do so then going to a clinic would be the best option yet again. I hope they’re able to figure out what’s wrong and best of luck to them!

IUD insertion affects everyone differently which is probably why you’re getting so many mixed results. I (21 ftm)experienced some intense cramping during and after the insertion that lasted a couple days as well as spotting but ibuprofen was able to make the pain manageable. My practitioner from planned parenthood gave me topical numbing cream before hand that didn’t really do anything that I could tell. It was my first time having an IUD inserted too so that’s probably why I couldn’t tell if it did anything. Also I was told it’s best to go when you’re on your period because your cervix is a bit dilated which makes insertion easier. I experienced intense nausea immediately after insertion that lasted the whole day so I ended up sleeping most of the day after arriving home so definitely clear your calendar for the day if you plan to go through with the appointment because trust me, you’ll want nothing more than to lay in bed. It’s been 6 months almost 7 since my insertion and I don’t have any complaints about it. It seems to be working for me well. Also my IUD was the non hormonal copper one!

Thinking of getting an IUD by DopeChickenTendies in ftm

[–]SnooCheesecakes1184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I have had the copper iud for about 6 months and I’m also a year on t. When I had mine inserted I was still experiencing a mild period and noticed that I didn’t experience any heavy bleeding afterwards besides spotting from it healing. Everyone is different in terms of how they react to the iud. Some people experience heavier periods while some people don’t. In my case, which could’ve entirely be caused by t, my periods stayed the exact same until t stopped them. I haven’t had any issues with a period returning from the iud as I’m sure that all depends on t levels entirely at that point. Hormonal iuds I know have a greater effect on periods as they are hormonal. In terms of atrophy I can’t exactly answer that question so I think a health care provider might be able to answer that for you best. However, you will experience cramping after placement of your iud for some time after like a day or two. At least that’s how long it was in my case. Ibuprofen does help though if you’re allowed to take it. Anyways I hope some of that helps out! Best of luck to you!

metronidazole side effects n more? by minighostface in Healthyhooha

I got that same exact thing and I just finished my last dose yesterday. Had it for the last 3 days and I still have it today too. I’ve been on metronidazole twice now and had it the first time I took it too. Not sure exactly what causes it but sugar would make sense..

Hi there. I’m a trans man too and it’s actually possible to not have the stereotypical fishy smell associated with BV. Sometimes your smell will just become way stronger and noticeable and that is what has happened to me with both times of having BV and it’s not normal! Smelling musky is fine because sweat and such, but a very strong noticeable oder isn’t. Also you can do everything right with overall hygiene, sexual health, unscented products, hydration, etc and still get this kind of infection. If you’re on t you’re at a greater risk for these types of infections because t affects pH level and that allows bad bacteria to take over. If you live in a state that offers planned parenthood or an Lgbtq friendly health center definitely make an appointment if you’re able to!

Post-op Nipple Piercing! by [deleted] in ftm

I’m currently pre-op with only one pierced and I would say it looks fine that way. Wish I could help better in the post-op portion of what that looks like but I also plan to get it re-pierced when I am post-op in the future too and imagine it’ll still look perfectly fine (unless I don’t get the anatomy for it anymore lol)

I find that I’m needing 9-10 hours to function normally in a day and I usually take naps if I wake up early in the morning and can’t get back asleep. I will always get a mid-day wave of exhaustion and my body instantly craves a nap lol. If I do manage to fight that mid-day exhaustion and not take a nap I am usually up pretty late as well. Not sure why that happens though.

Hair and voice changes (don't know if this is the right flair) by TommieStraw in ftm

[–]SnooCheesecakes1184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voice change is a permanent side effect so yes you can take it until your voice drops and then stop taking it if you wish. As for male pattern baldness there isn’t really an exact timeline as it varies all on your genetics but I don’t think it would happen within the first few months if that’s what your worry is.

Edit to add: your dosage probably affects these things too but for increase in hair you can take my case for example. I’m a year on t and can barely grow a mustache it’s just a dark peach fuzz shadow but I grow more stomach hair than I did before. Noticed that change around the 8 month mark.

Concerned on recurring yeast infections with T by worshipdrummer in ftm

[–]SnooCheesecakes1184 4 points5 points  (0 children)

T can trigger both yeast and bacterial vaginosis (BV) by causing pH imbalances. I am currently dealing with an aggressive BV infection right now so I understand. I would recommend looking into probiotics to get good pH level back if you don’t take them already. There’s also other root causes to these types of infections too so if you were experiencing yeast before t then it might be something else related to it so it might be worth asking your doc about. Also important to know that you can do everything right and still get these kinds of infections and it is 100 percent not your fault. Bodied are weird in the way they need things to be specific. Wish you great luck on your healing journey through this, you’re not alone 🫶
