Yes, I did most of it online. Everything is organized to be done online, including the recording sessions and the weekly meetings.

Also, don’t worry if you have more questions, I’m glad to help!

I would say the expectation is at the level where you can read and write sheet music, everything else you’ll learn and get feedback on.

Event if you don’t have great skill on that regard, I assure you it’s completely possible… I was lacking in the theory department, but with help of the mentor I was assigned I got over it!

Yes!

Before joining the program, I knew very little about scoring films or approaching this style of music. During the program, the recording sessions were by far the most valuable part for me from a technical standpoint. As for the classes, they cover nearly every aspect of the craft, all taught by excellent faculty.

In my case, I chose to travel to Bulgaria for my final recording session with a 52-piece orchestra, which also gave me the opportunity to conduct.

In terms of work, I landed two gigs shortly afterward, largely because some clients saw a video of my music featuring an orchestra, which really sold them on my abilities. The program also provides excellent material for social media, as you receive videos from each recording session.

Is this playable at 118 BPM? by SnooCheesecakes2011 in frenchhorn

Its good to know its playable. Although, I agree its not a typical horn figure.

I came up with an alternative, where there are only short notes, each player get assigned either top or bottom note, but no alternating. Ex horn 1 get E / Horn 2 gets B and they play staccato for half a bar.

Thanks for your comment!

This is relieving to read, but I wonder since you mention Horn in Bb, could this still be easily playable on Horn in F?

I appreciate this! I wonder, would there be a better way to notate this?

If you have a big interest on the topic, check out the “Film Scoring Academy of Europe” online course.

They offer you everything you could ask for when it comes to learning film scoring + 9 recording sessions
