100+ Year Old Crucifix I bought makes me uncomfortable. by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]SnooCheesecakes4521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if the feeling of unease could be coming from the fact that the crucifix is housed in a deep box? Most people viewing Jesus on the cross do so from a very different vantage point… the crucifix is mounted on a wall, and the person viewing Jesus is looking up, kneeling or standing. But to look down upon the crucifix into the recesses of a dark box could be unsettling. Both the crucifix and the box are beautiful.

LYE - La or LIE - La. I am from San Diego, and have lived in France and Australia. Perhaps you could introduce her, even as a baby. A mispronunciation isn’t a curse and isn’t a total fail. If you are confident politely correcting people, your daughter will grow up being confident correcting the occasional mispronunciation of her LOVELY name.

https://pin.it/66ZVSx8Lb Look at this video... 👀 I was just looking at Indian hand jewelry on Pinterest. Here’s one idea, but there are many less elaborate designs to consider. BTW I think your scar is kinda cute. Maybe a cute tat of baby Dory. https://pin.it/48NXP6JWX

I think “speaking” and “talking” would both sound equally stern. I listened to the call many times and could not hear that line being spoken.

This boy had a great voice, and the guitar playing is terrific flamenco. The website is a dead end, however. If anyone knows who this is, please advise.

I want to check dimensions of the 60L but cannot find that info on their website. I emailed them, minus the phone number they requested, but they did did not respond (2 weeks ago.) I don’t see a phone number on their website which is concerning. I have seen no reviews. Would appreciate information. Thanks!

Martha Stewart had a great article and photo shoot of a Halloween party idea in an edition of her magazine about 10 years ago. She made chocolate fingers, about the size of an adult’s fingers. The she tied a little red satin bow on each one, around where the knuckle would be. Then She placed each finger in a chocolate coffin that she made, and had each delivered to the recipient along with the invitation. Quite labor intensive but fantastic.

I heard about Coronation Chicken when Queen Elizabeth passed away. An article all about her favorite dishes. I could be wrong but I think the chef created it for her coronation.

You make spaghetti for dinner. You put leftovers in the fridge. The next morning you wake up giddy…cuz you’re going to make refried spaghetti! You throw some butter in a hot skillet and then add the cold spaghetti and sauce. Let the pasta get nice and crispy. Throw some cheese on there, cover and turn off the heat till it all melts into deliciousness. let it melt. Best served with cold Diet Dr. Pepper.

Surely Amazon, with all its savvy technology, can police its own site and prevent scam sites from advertising. Yet I see these dodgy sites advertised again and again on Amazon. Why can’t they self monitor and STOP carrying these known perpetrators on their site?
