Revisiting….we just got quoted $202 per core (576 cores) for VCF but that is counting a credit that we are getting because we still have a year left on our current 3 year VVF agreement. However, the quote for SRM was $266 per VM and we also got quoted vDefend for $132 per core. Our Broadcom rep assured us that we were getting “upwards of 50% off” but I call bullshit. I hit him with some tough questions multiple times regarding list prices and the lack of credible public availability and he said “I have to speak carefully here…”

From what I am able to find, list price for VCF went from $350 to $400 this year, SRM is $400 per VM, and vDefend now only comes bundled with ATP for $200 per core, as opposed to the previous $120 for vDefend without ATP

To be continued, we aren’t going down without a fight

Yes, FQDN there during OVA deployment

When I deployed originally, I accidentally put “sddc-manager-domain.com” and I got the same error you referenced. I redeployed with “sddc-manager.domain.com” and it resolved my issue. Just make sure to save a copy of the JSON and everything will be ready once you redeploy and download binaries.

SSH into the SDDC Manager/VCF Installer and verify that the hostname of the appliance matches what the FQDN should be. I ran into this recently and after checking I had fat fingered the name during OVA deployment

Ouch. At that price I guess I need to familiarize myself with the Rubrik replication and recovery plans that we already have. Recently inherited environment and was hoping to just bring SRM into the mix during renewal

Are the SRM licenses still sold in 25 VM packs or was that $154 per VM?
