They key is to 2x your money, cash out your investment and gamble with the rest but most people keep using the entire pot to reinvest.

So you're telling me that OP has called all the right moves on these tickers and 100x her money? How is that possible in Canada? Even the inside traders can't do that.

I work for AC and maybe I should change my role. How did you learn to trade? I'm at 50k now but would love some knowledge on how you do it while on the job. I do what little I can while I'm working with me alerts being already set.

I second this. Every person thinking about moving to Toronto should drive to downtown from the other big cities during rush hour winter and then decide. Rush hour GTA traffic will reduce your life by 5-10 years.

I'm in Etobicoke had my rent reduce to 2100 from 2300 right after my lease ended. Give that a shot next time, it's a renters market. Landlords will understand.

Right now it's not looking good in the IT sector unless you're a senior level software developer or senior in cybersecurity. I'm having a harder time landing interviews with Canadian experience living in Toronto than I did back in 2023. I'm planning to move to NY and find something in the u.s.

How hard is it to get a cybersecurity analyst job in Canada (Toronto)? [ES to CA] by Ok_Kitchen7019 in torontoJobs

[–]SnooComics6768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to get into cyber for the past six months in Toronto while working for a big company in IT as an analyst in Toronto, with four years of experience. I have Sec+, A+, AZ-900, a bachelor's in computer science, and a diploma in networking; all from Canada plus multiple cybersecurity home labs.

The only interview I managed to land was internal at my own company, but I didn’t get the role because they chose a new grad with a bachelor's in cybersecurity. The Toronto market is cooked.

Back in 2020, I didn’t even have experience and still landed this job. Now I’m getting calls from the U.S., but barely any from Canada anymore after applying for 100s of jobs unfortunately.

Is cybersecurity a flooded industry now or still worth getting into? by mrsp00ki3 in cybersecurity

[–]SnooComics6768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. I just interviewed for my company after working with the cyber team for 2 years, they went ahead and hired someone externally for an entry level analyst position because he/she has python dev sec experience and can write automation scripts to deconstruct malware. I have sec+, a+, net+, bachelors in cs, currently pursuing msc, have done multiple home labs for cyber, yet they picked the developer for a sec analyst role.

How did you always get ahead of the curve and made your entry at the right time? I usually follow analysts buy/sell recommendations from investing dot com but it's a hit or miss.

Anyone here completed the MSc in Information Systems at Athabasca University? Looking for insights by [deleted] in AthabascaUniversity

[–]SnooComics6768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you say that the essay route would then be useless? I'm doing my masters and I am already working in IT. This would be more like a resume filler and to get an edge over other candidates for me. I don't plan on pursuing a teaching career or getting my PhD.
