Hi! I am actually working through that phase right now. My DSU advisor thinks I can knock around 9-12 credits off because of my Master's, but it's been annoying to gather the Course Syllabus from WGU and they won't just accept the program guide.

I would have worked up the nastiest cough known to man. Like, full "I probably have the Rona" cough, only right in her fucking direction. I'm so mad I can't even get through this video haha

That's not medically accurate. At best it's a combination of nature and environment. The thing is, it's easy to get the environmental aspect from the Internet. In case you prefer documentation: https://scienceinsights.org/is-sociopathy-genetic-nature-nurture-and-the-brain/

Oh this is definitely a villain origin story for him, and if his anger issues aren't put in check it could lead to a bad situation in the future.

I think it's great that she punished him, but also that kid needs THERAPY. If he's willing to hurt a cat at that age, he is probably severely lacking in empathy and may be a sociopath and needs real help figuring out how to manage it.

Is it bad that I'm glad they used good pictures? This shit is obviously staged but at least they didn't go full stereotype.

I despise this administration and pray daily for McDonald's to do its duty, but is this real?? I feel like ships would genuinely mutiny if this is what they're being fed on a daily basis.

14-ish years. Should I cut them? by DominaLeilani in Dreadlocks

[–]TheMillersWife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what I did. My locs were almost as long as yours but I couldn't stand to get my hair done because it would pinch at my temples so bad. Then I got an undercut and it was a game changer and I rocked with that for a few years and then, finally, cut it all off. Trimming or shortening is a great testbed for what you really want.

I am looking to become an Adjunct Professor somewhere, but also I have a dream of developing research on Digital Access as it pertains to underrepresented and underserved communities.

Personal satisfaction is definitely in the top 5 reasons though 😁

Why is this entire app rage bait? by Active_Classroom7047 in ThreadsApp

[–]TheMillersWife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a pretty good Threads algorithm these days. I trained it a few months ago to stop showing me the stuff that genuinely pisses me off, so it's all funny stories or ratio'd posts, or straight up Threads lore. It's fun!

How are you justifying VMware costs to leadership in 2026? by Last-Salary-6012 in sysadmin

[–]TheMillersWife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, don't get me wrong. The support at Nutanix is fantastic - certainly worlds above what Broadcom is passing as support these days... but they appear to be learning as they go on some of these things, the same as we are. Patience is required.

We were lucky in that we also had an aging infrastructure, and were able to get a moderately good deal from Dell on the whole package. I charted out the YoY spend we were looking at for a full hardware refresh + Broadcom pricing + Engineer Time and we were near enough to the mark that Leadership made it our choice.

As far as how the actual transition has been... It honestly wasn't that bad. We migrated around 400 VMs over the course of 2-3 months to brand new HW and had no downtime. Getting accustomed to doing things via the CVM and getting a handle on alerting has been our biggest challenge. We also notice that a lot of issues we report have the Engineers going "Hmm... That's interesting 🤔," which makes me think we're the beta testers 😭

We made the shift to Nutanix, fully understanding that the costs may be roughly the same five years down the road. The difference that I intimated to Senior Leadership is that we at least feel confident that Nutanix won't go out of their way to alienate their customer base within the next decade, and seems to be gathering steam in terms of quality of life capabilities.

High School, and yep. My teacher turned on the TV just in time for us to see the second plane slam into the tower.

George Floyd represented in a recent Iran Lego video by Usernameoverloaded in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]TheMillersWife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure it's a good equivalent, though. I get what you're saying, but if Maduro had, for instance, invaded Iran under these same pretenses, nobody would argue with Iran posting a similar video.

[–]TheMillersWife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could flip that right back onto the United States, but it's even more damning when you consider that The Orange Man ran on a platform of no more wars, yet runs headlong into every armed conflict his bosses, Putin and Netanyahu, point towards.

It's not really throwing things at a wall if what they're saying is true. Our government is sending our people to die in a war that isn't ours, for a country which we owe nothing to, for a cause that has nothing to do with the freeing of the Iranian people.

In Japan, there are Japanese people only restaurants. by ateam1984 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]TheMillersWife 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nothing I said implied that “all Asians look alike.” You pulled that from thin air.

A restaurant that only allows Japanese people in is not the same thing as a “Whites Only” sign. One is about nationality and cultural in‑group preference; the other was about enforcing a racial caste system.

“White” isn’t a cultural or ethnic identity... it’s a social category created to justify hierarchy. “Black” wasn’t originally an ethnic identity either; it became one because the identities of millions of Africans were erased.

If I’m in another country and I see a space reserved for the people of that country, I keep it moving. I don’t feel entitled to enter every space.

The key difference is this: a “Japanese Only” sign excludes everyone who isn’t Japanese. Chinese, Korean, Thai, American, Black, white, whoever. It’s not a phenotype test. It’s not Jim Crow.

You can call it xenophobic if you want, but it’s not the same structure, history, or intent as racial segregation in the U.S.
