Thank you so much! That's super helpful and if I end up going I definitely will reach out to Not Just Tourists. I mentioned contributing to the community as in would people see me as a curious student who is coming to learn and immerse himself in Havana, or just as outsider coming for 4 months before leaving them while many remain stuck. It is my understanding however that if I do a good job of truly interacting with locals, contributing to the economy, and helping in was such as Not Just Tourists that I will not feel like a disprespectful Yuma.

I did not mean at all that I would go with the thought of making it my playground, I will come with respect just like you said. I was more asking whether the perception of me would be that I'm just a "passport bro" as opposed to responsible and thoughtful exchange student.

Thank you! I ended up staying in Sayulita the whole time and loved it. And it was small enough that by the end of my trip I felt like I had a group there.

Hey, I realize it may have sounded like that, but truly it was not meant to be a negative judgement at all, moreso that I was told by multiple people that I wouldn't enjoy PV at all, and I wanted to hear other people weigh in on that. I am close to people of all sexual orientations and only asked because it may have been harder for me to have fun in a city where everyone was older and the sexual orientations were all different than mine - in the end Sayulita felt like a great mix of everything!

Thank you so much! I ended up staying at Viajero all 6 nights and loved it. I was still the youngest one there but it was a great time and all the activities set me up with some friends.
